From what little I know of him and his playing style, I can see him there as an impact sub. But given his age and inexperience in the position, the obvious concern would be defensive ability. Quick data search puts him in lowest percentiles for tracking back and tackling.

Equally, if he gets 6 we won’t. I’d have tried to take whatever we could get now if there were any buyers out there, on the back of last season. Depends when we decided he could go I guess (if we have)

Because if you get rid before you replace you are taking a gamble and if that gamble failed this place would be in meltdown

Because clubs dont want to spend money, and so, can beg for last minute loans knowing clubs like us need to offload players before submitting their final squad numbers.

Take the example of Kitching. Its been known for a long time SU were in the market for a CH, and reportedly offering 8-10m for Souttar (others as well mentioned). I would have hoped the club's and players agents could have worked on a [sale] deal before agreeing a deadline day loan.
