How much is BTA worth today?

How much is BTA worth if he bags a couple of goals and gets MOTM v England. (And then takes Ghana to the last 16)?

For me - He's definitely someone I'd consider selling. I like him but he's definitely replaceable.

I’d agree about £5-6m max.

He’s actually someone I feel is worth keeping around. Not going to make massive money off him, happy to come off the bench and provides energy chasing balls down and keeping pressure on our opponents.

I think we’re well past the days of players getting signed on a good World Cup alone.

He is 27 already and if you look beyond last season I don’t think his numbers really back up a valuation like that.

If we were to sell our best bet would probably be a wealthy championship club. I’d be tempted to sell for £5m, anything more would be an overpay for me.

I think maybe 7/8 million in todays market, he’s a hard working forward who is versatile and has scored a few goals at championship level but last season was his best goalscoring season of his career and at 27 he isnt going to get much better. I think we get good value with keeping him around, and probably cashing in on Simms as he only has a year left unless he’s willing to extend his contract

I'm not advocating selling him here, but we have to move some players on as we have 25 senior players on our books. We have to sell/lend/offload/deregister to be able to add to our registered squad.
Some of these players could be ones we don't expect to lose but we get an offer too good to turn down. If the club value him at £5m and we get an offer of £5.5m then he's likely to go.

Transfermarkt has him valued at £16m. Whilst this is obviously not a true reflection, I do find their valuations quite useful as indicative costs at times and it is very very rare they over value someone.

I'm firmly in the camp of "wait and see"
If he turns up a good performance against Englands best defenders, then we keep him and his monetary value becomes insignificant to his club value.
We should not be selling attacking options "if" they can compete at this level.

I love the way BTA plays. One of my favourites. I'd be gutted if we sold him. He's done a great job for us and it'll be interesting to see how (and if) he plays against the England squad of "top" players. I'll be watching the game purely to see how he does.

This is my point. IMHO - He's not going to cut it at premier league level.

If he has a brilliant game tomorrow - then his monetary value is very significant - because we might get an inflated offer.

If that Sunderland Netflix thing is any indication, there are still chairman out there that get very twitchy around deadline day!

Well, let's judge him after he's played against some of the best English players in the prem.
I would argue, if, and big IF, he can perform against England to the point he's setting up good chances, assists or even a goal...
Then he is of equal standing.
Might not be as good, or as technical. But the upgrade would have to be big.

Going to be very interesting. Will be up against it from the start as most of his side he will be playing with are well below Prem level. They struggled against Panama until he came on.

I'd just be happy to see him not schooled from start to finish.

Difficult one with BTA. Has contributed a lot this last season.

Depends on how Lampard wants his sqaud balanced. If he wants versatility on the bench, he may have a place. BTA just hasn't got a primary position for me, especially for the PL. I just can't see what position he would actually start in. And do we have room/the budget for that?

Some master tacticians on here that “know” whether someone who hasn’t played in the prem is not good enough for it. Of course the PL is a step up. But we’re building it up as some sort of theatre of the footballing gods. There is some bang averageness in there as well.

After watching the Gary Neville interview of him coming back a different beast from pre season and seeing that 30 minute cameo in the World Cup, I’ve convinced myself he is going to be our answer to Antoine Semenyo

I think hes more than the 5-6 mill touted here tbh , closer to 10 maybe even slightly more .. we tend to undervalue players on here

Jordan Hugill went for £10m and £5m. Some club would pay close to the former but I’d still keep him.

Ghana were so poor against Columbia, not one shot on target. Yet the manager plays Ayew whose about 90 and doesn't even use BTA.
