Bus to home games South Cov

Hi all.

Anyone looking for travel to home games from Finham area. The Burnt Post on A45 offering a bus to all home games £10 (£1 booking fee) return or £150 for entire season. Great value I think and saves any parking issues and walking miles. Link here anyone interested.

Sometimes we get the official shuttle bus from Central Six, that's pretty good, although a rush after the game to get one one. Was it a fiver or something. Can't remember now.

Not sure what's funny at £10 that's £30 a game for the three of us. Assume you're bus and you're just looking to make some money rather than the pub putting on a service to get people in before and after.

50 seats at £5 is £250 or £5k a season for 19 games. Small fuel, driver's wages and use of a bus they already have presumably not doing anything else or they'd have it out somewhere further. Seems a decent profit in that.

We're probably better parking a couple of miles away and getting an Uber each way for less cost than parking.

Have you seen the price of an uber after the game. We go back to the gas club after the game and if you try to get an uber an hour after for a 3 mile trip it's £30

Tbh didnt realise that. The plan was to be there an hour before and after and assumed that would be about a tenner each way max, so cheaper than parking and less hassle.

We're just a bit scuppered by the red route due to be enforced on Judds Lane. Dad can't walk too far so we normally leave it there and have tickets at that end of the ground, close to where the busses drop off. I think even Car Park C possibly a bit too far. A is sold out, but even then paying £20 to sit in the car park not moving for an hour is a bit ridiculous too. Will probably gauge how it goes for the first few games before we commit to anything.

Attending games was much easier when we were shit!

If you wanted to use this service after driving a few miles to get to the pub Is there much on street parking nearby? I don't think the publican would be happy if you used their car park unless you were having a drink or 2, though it's a fairly big car park, probably not full except in the evening or weekends.

There is plenty of street parking around the Burnt Post if you're not allowed to park in the car park.

Fuel based on a coach achieving 10mpg for a 10 mile round trip is about £7.50 based on £1.65 per litre. I'm not sure that's where the cost goes.

Unless the coach depot is at the Burnt Post its going to have to get there and back to the depot afterwards. Same with the driver, you aren't just employing them for the journey time, it will be from the time they're at the depot until the time they return.

Then you've got the £50(?) drop off charge for coaches at the CBS, presumably somewhere to park during the game as well.

Also add in that I'd imagine, given the number of places that run coaches, they're in high demand on matchdays and therefore more expensive.

I'm not disputing there are costs, just pointing out the fuel isn't the reason. A service most pubs would like too as many will go in for a swift one before and after I imagine. I still think if you can fill a coach for £250 a time that you're not going to lose on it for an afternoon out if it's a service for fans. It isn't, it's for a business to make money and that's fine as supply and demand dictates the cost, it's just a bit steep for me to a home game on top of fuel to and from there myself and tickets etc. so I'll have to find an alternative.

He's not wrong though, for one person it's pritty good value, but we cram 4, sometimes 5 into one car, and park in car park C at £12-£15 or £44-£55 per game via this service.

I was thinking about the train - £22 return for 3 from Leamington is decent, but need to try it on a non-matchday first. A bit concerned that with only 2 carriages it will be rammed and dad won't get a seat. They need to extend the platform before they can add more carriages.

I'm sure they extended it a few years back at the same time as Bedworth. The problem seems to be the lack of rolling stock is what I'm led to believe

They need to contact Newcastle Metro pronto then, I certainly hope they already have,then the other part of,,the stadium becomes a 24 hour offering entertainment that can actually compete on level playing field.

Seriously only £95 a season in C? I never knew that and thought they were all the same. I'm right in thinking C is just the other side of the overpass?
