I'm starting to get a bit worried. Just cos I'm wondering who the 3rd relegation team will be if it isn't us

Assuming Ipswich and hull go down

Who do we stay above?

Arsenal, man city, man u, Aston villa, Liverpool, Chelsea, spurs under de zerbi - UNLIKELY we finish above these 7 teams

So that leaves 10 more teams. We need one to have a shite season like west ham and hope we can take advantage. But it's still tough to see who

Newcastle - Saudi backed
Forest - always spend, made a euro semi. Think they will be ok
Brighton - European commitments but they can rotate in conference league and still advance
Everton- just can't see.moyes Everton team ever not being solid at very least.

Can't see it being any of these 4 teams either.

So that leaves 7 clubs

Bournemouth - new manager AND euro commitments
Brentford- can't really bet against bloom but still pinching every season I guess
Leeds - closest prem side left to a championship side I guess?
Palace - new manager and possibly euro commitments
Fulham - new manager likely
Sunderland - euro commitments

I think if a team other than cov is gonna get relegated it's gonna be one of these 7 teams but no guarantees

Can only speculate so much till we know how recruitment goes but still interested to know which teams you guys think we can realistically finish above?

Bloom is the Brighton owner not Brentford

Ya sorry you are right

Who's the Brentford guy again? Also moneyball. Has rivalry with bloom. Can't rmemrber name now

Point stands tho. Recruitment is massive plus for them. I thought they might get relegated this year and Andrews did great. But always hope one season it doesn't come together for them I guess

I think you’ve got it pretty spot on as to why it will be almost impossible. A little curve ball is the hope Man City get severe points sanction with 115 charges.
I think euro commitments could be big for the Europa teams in particular. Hope they make it to semis then lose lol

And then we have to hope established teams get new manager wrong. If Fulham hire Russel Slade for example

yeah it is.

I don’t think we can overthink it. Just need to expect us to likely go down, see what business we do in the summer and see what happens.

I can see Europe really stretching one of the Europa/Conference league sides.

And in my opinion Silva done a decent job at Fulham, no guarantees his replacement does as well.

And they'll be a big underperformer performer in the Everton/Newcastle/Forest/Brighton group I reckon.

Wouldn't know who the third team would be, possible one of the 7 you suggested but I think our home form will carry us on the survival trail imo. either way it's going to exciting
..PUSB

I wonder what's best, recruit sensibly and hope stay above one of these

Or push boat out and spend a lot and take risk to try instantly be stronger than a few of these from get go

Will be interesting to revisit this end of window for sure

you have to have a balance, push the boat out but have relegation clauses should we need to. it’s a hard balancr

If I had to make a prediction today I'd say Fulham palace Leeds are the 3 likeliest teams we can stay above

Yes, all three you have mentioned will most likely be the ones. Good chance Fulham and Leeds will also be looking for new managers.

I'd agree with that.
Though there are no guarantees we finish above Ipswich or Hull!

If next season isn't the season we stay up, just need to stay stoic, nothing knee jerk and hopefully its just a stepping stone to eventually getting established in the next 2 or 3 years.

One think we have over a lot of clu s is we're now well run and seem to have a strategy, so many clubs seem to be run on a scattergun, ad hoc basis.

Interesting that Sunderland are 4th favourites for the drop given the season they've just had
think they started really well and then got a bit twitchy over the winter months.

am i right they start their season early being in Europe? it’ll be a slog for them

Tottenham have finished 17th last two seasons in a row, they either really turn it around by now signing Senesi and Andy Robertson which were agreed subject to them staying up which they now have and I’m sure they will recruit well but you’d have to throw them in the mix

Not sure when their European adventure will start but obviously it adds a lot of additional fixtures

This might sound absurd but on a positive note I do think if we go onto this season with the EXACT same squad as last season we would still get more than derbys PTS record.

We have beat wolves away. Beat man u at Wembley with inferior team to this season.

Just trying to be optimistic that maybe it's a doable task to stay up with good recruitment

Sunderland bought 15 players.

I think we need to be ruthless, cut players who can’t cut it and sign what we need. it’s a real balancing act. i would like about 9/10

Recruitment is key, but that goes for every team.

Much less likely imo.
Well im 100% sure everyvody that spurs would be better than 17th this season .

These threads are silly because nobody has any idea what business will be done between now and august , sunderland just finished 7th and leeds 14th

Yeah.

Logic dictates 115 charges, 115 points deduction

Man City at 14/1 is mental.

You have to wonder whether bums are squeaking even more after the EFL showed some bollocks over Southampton?

Yup

Though can I just say that Sunderland will win the Europa League and get relegated 🤪

There is every chance leeds, sunderland , palace and fulham have worse seasons than last year too .. likewise they can all kick on .

Hard to know

I agree generally, if the league table were always decided on paper there’d be no point playing games. But I think West Ham are a dysfunctional mess less able to improve than Spurs are with one of the league’s biggest revenues. Don’t think that’s a controversial take.

Nobody will have had Wolves down to take half a season to win a game, like in the Championship clubs will always have a stinker they’re not expecting. 40 points would again have been enough this season and the better question is how we can hit that total. Win 12 games and draw 4, you could still lose over half your games in that scenario.
