He's slammed the players (usually the end of a manager!) and allegedly had said goodbyes to some of his staff!!

I don’t think either party would be seriously interested at the moment. If we do relatively well in the PL then they and others would seriously consider FL, IMO.

The only job that I think he’d leave for at the moment is the England job.

For over a billion pounds spent I think their squad is pretty garbage tbh

I would say Reece James, Enzo, Joao Pedro and a fit and firing Palmer would even touch any elite squads

Yes but the difference is the fee's they could recoup

They are all tied down on ridiculously long contracts mind, Mudryk for example still has 5yrs left on his deal, he has not kicked a ball in nearly 2 years and was signed in 2023, they have only just managed to get Sterling off the books

Yes the amount of players on their books is their biggest concern

Lampard would be perfect for Chelsea, but Coventry City is perfect for Lampard. He loves it with us and there's no pressure on him here like there would be at another big club. Even if we got relegated he would still keep his job with us.

Anyone being realistic knows it won't be easy next season, but depending on who comes in of course, I think we will survive.

King is a realist. He knows Lampard is good enough to get promotion from the Championship again and we would also have a better squad than now.

This forum? The reasons for our 'blip' were obvious. A bad flu bug went through our side. MVE was even being sick during games. We also had injuries and suspensions in a small squad. We kept top spot but you would have thought our season was over by some of the comments. Some will go mental next season.

How is it good for his career if he jumps ship to Chelsea at every opportunity? When he left Derby to join Chelsea, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that you don’t turn down.

Likewise, it’s a dysfunctional club so he needs to wait things out. Lampard has mentioned that whilst he doesn’t regret going back for the second spell, he learned a lot and would do things differently.

In my view, if he is considered a truly elite coach, then go back. Both of his spells he did Chelsea a favour and they dumped him the moment it was convenient.
