Looks like we’re playing on fumes is the main reason I think.
I think we have enough to get through that game and Blues

Then we have a chance at a break, and hopefully some reinforcements in.

I want 3 in but to be honest I'd take 10 in if it got us over the line.

Not really buying the tactically outdone piece. Outpassed and out run yes. Control the ball, control the game. One of those games against a team that can afford to indulge due to heft parachute payments.

Poor performance

Could see the difference with premier league power and pace. We couldn't get near them and when we did get ball we instantly panicked.

Wright was fucking shite. Didn't try win headers and lost ball for their breakthrough goal albeit it from a poor emc pass . I stand up for him alot and have no doubt he will fire many more goals this season but that said if he was sold for 30m plus I wouldn't be distraught as he can be replaced and that's a good profit

EMC tried this tricks but he had clearly been counted.

Saka worked hard but mismatched physically.

Ipswich didn't look amazing but they have got good players and powerful ones more importantly. Their number 5 bossed us

Oh well still 10 clear of 3rd. As long as we bounce back it's not something to dwell on too much. More something for recruitment team to be aware of if we do go up

Really poor from us tonight. Wright/Rudoni criminally bad. Sick of Wright to be honest - happily drive him to east London if West Ham want to offer £20-25m.

Haji won nothing and we were second to everything. Great news is we have a chance to put it right in a few days and we’re still 10 points clear of a very hot and cold Ipswich team. Remember when they beat us a few weeks ago and everyone said they were gonna come for us and they then lost to Leicester and drew with Millwall. We’ll be fine.
Thing is they’re always fired up to play us and we’re scared shitless to play them. Hope they don’t keep up today’s performance.

This is a brilliant post and totally reflects the game.

If I was a betting man I'd say we lost to the future champions tonight with the resources they have to see them through the winter. Can we join them? I think so, if we bounce back with something like the way we were before Ipswich away then I know so. But please Doug I can't bear the continuing Wright and Simms era and I think its the one thing worrying me, hand in pocket in January

Think Bidwell probably comes back in, Eccles should be in for Rudi but Torp looks exhausted. MVE is looking the same but we aren’t starting KKH despite that.

Too many changes and players on their last legs for me.

Beaten twice by Ipswich isn't at all surprising, they have a tremendous squad to call on.
On balance F.L. and the coaches have done a brilliant job to get us (still) clear at the top of the table with the squad we have.
Tonight's game just highlighted that we need to strengthen significantly in the January transfer window to get us over the line for promotion.
Be a few in and a few out I reckon.

CWR talking to Lampard. Have they been told not to ask Lampard about the pens?

Lampard explaining why we didn't keep run at the keeper though.... I mean it was common sense.

I think by Sunday night Ipswich will only be five points behind us. They should beat Oxford and Portsmouth and I fear we will only draw against Charlton and lose to Birmingham.

Ipswich should win the title. The issue then is whether we can stay ahead of Middlesborough and the rest of the chasing pack. I can't face the thought of the play-offs again.

It’s at the point where Rudoni could maybe do with some time coming off the bench instead.
Find myself agreeing with this. He's probably the player in this squad who i feel has the most potential for the future, however since he has been back in the team, the goals have dried up.
It's totally understandable that he is rusty (possibly the shoulder is subconsciously causing a problem) and you can't improve without minutes, but he has been slowing us down in attacks and we look less fluid as everything seems to have to go through him because he pops up everywhere in others space.
It's a really tough situation, you want him to get back to his best of last season, but you don't want the progression of this season to holt.
Perhaps both he and the team would benefit from him coming off the bench. I don't think Eccles had been playing badly at all and deserves a chance to carry that on.
We really miss BTA, but there's nothing we can do about that. So why not bring Eccles back in for a couple of starts. I don't think Lampard will bring Rudi out though.

All bets are off atm. Think that’s the first time this season we’ve been outclassed start to finish, lost at home deservedly - anxious to see how we react to that. Football can go any way.

Yes really big game next to show just a blip. Or maybe just that they are the one better team than us. Like you say who knows

Never, ever, in a month of Sunday's did i ever think id be wishing BTA would hurry back from injury to replace Rudoni. But the sooner the better. Weve been poor for a few weeks now. How much of that is down to illness? How much is that down to Rudi playing instead of BTA? All i do know is Rudi is a shadow of the player we know he can be. And questions seriously need asking whether he should be starting ahead of Eccles on Thursday.

Also, for all the people who immediately refused the addition of Bamford out of hand, tonight was crying out for a player like him. Every ball forward just came straight back with Haji offering fuck all. All those who said he was shit, he's scored 5 for a poor blunts team, in that same time Haji has a big fat fuck all zero against his name. Just saying.

don’t disagree with the Bamford comment

I’d play Wright at 10 and tell him to fucking run for everything, and Simms ahead of him

Oh well, we are only the 10 points clear of the most expensive Championship team in history who could only beat our illness ravaged side via 2 deflected goals (one from a man who asks his barber for 'a nonce musketeer') and after being denied 3 clear pens.

We'll beat Charlton, they'll shit the stable and normal service will be resumed. Their town is the result of a bizarre experiment to merge King's Lynn with Colchester, their economy is dependent on a busking Riddler and goats, and Darnell Furlong is even shitter than his dad. We beat Fulham 7-2 on aggregate in 2021/22 and no one was calling us Champions elect. Sky and Ipswich struggling with the concept of a LEAGUE.

The co com (Hinchcliffe again?) sounded like he wanted to run on and give them the Championship trophy at the end. I was watching the game with a really mild mannered mate who didn't have a dog in the race, he turned to me on 80 mins and said 'who is this prick'? He's this years' Jimmy Greaves, that's who.

Yes I'm taking it well.

They are totally streaky and that’s why i’m not too worried

I think we’ll probably finish 3rd or fourth now which will be a superb season

Ipswich are miles better and will win it and Middlesbrough will get their revenge by pipping us to second
There is absolutely no way we will be going up as champions - Not too bothered about that.
But to completely blow a 10 pt lead over third placed even from here as it stands now would be an unmitigated disaster.

Heard anything from your source? Hopefully have a deal or two done rather quickly
