Wright was much much worse tonight than Simms at Bristol.

Wright hasn't scored in 11, Simms is in goalscoring form. It is crazy to drop him.

Simms hasnt scored for 5 games has he? He wasn’t dropped he started 2 of those games. You may have better football knowledge than Lampard and his coaching team - I don’t know your CV - but they don’t rate him

Better side beat us tonight.

Not much went our way, as with the return fixture.

They will be within a point or two of us by the end of Jan. They have a very, very easy run ahead of them.

Rudoni just looks like a luxury player who gets in the way at the moment.
I doubt Lampard will drop him though because he's viewed as 'quality'.
The Wright, Simms problem is getting serious. Maybe they will offload Simms in January and replace him. But that situation is shaping up badly for the run in.
Simms was on fire, player of the month, then got dropped! This isn't on Simms. Definitely on Frank.

We need to beat Charlton and get back on the horse

hopefully we sign 2/3 forward players in the first week of January

I’d definitely like to see a midfielder who can get about the pitch

Worst performance of the season (worse than the 3-0 loss to them earlier).

Rushworth comes out with credit but I have no idea what happened with the rest of em. Outclassed and outfought today.

However the bonus is they can’t take anymore points of us and we have 10 over them. It’s still in our hands, beat Charlton and Birmingham and all is forgiven

Not a great night. Ipswich (like most teams) seem to really turn up against us, after some not so great performances away from home. However we should be used to that by now. They were far more up for the fight than we were, simple as that.

I feel that is twice now that Lampard has been outsmarted by McKenna. Just an opinion but i feel we need to be able to pull out a different formation now and again, and surprise teams because we are incredibly predictable. I understand we may be able to do that more when we bring in reinforcements, but we still could've managed it with what we have.
Ipswich find it really difficult to break down a low block, there's no shame in switching things up to make things difficult for them, even if we are at home. That is only an advantage if you play without fear. We didn't do that tonight.

Feel the referee lost control of the game, possibly two penalties we should have had too, but that isn't the reason for the defeat.
Rushworth unlucky tonight, two great saves and got done by 2 deflections.

Interested to see what team / formation Lampard responds with at Charlton.
Tactically we were undone big time.

They smothered our back 4 and forced us long (to their massive back 4). And the amount of times they were able to easily pop the ball into the number 10 area and turn on it was silly. First half especially we couldn’t deal with any of it.

Beating Birmingham and Charlton away will be really tough

It felt like we forgot we could play football tonight. First time Robins long ball critique was justified. Needed to be braver.

Remember Ipswich going up, Leeds outclassed them twice but finished lower and lost the play off final. Leeds got to brag about their 6 points, Ipswich got promoted. Let's hope that's us.

Probably I’m fucked off
Ipswich and Cov the two standout teams in the xG table, we’ve had to play them with key players missing and the fuel tank empty after busting out performances with a serious flu bug in the squad.

I’m very disappointed with the game, of course I am, but the transfer window opens soon and we’ll get those players back not long after. Keep the faith mate.

Will Lampard ever get the better of McKenna? We always seem afraid of them and they always look like they have our number. Thank God that’s the last we see of them. Hope we bounce back asap and don’t let this derail all the good work we’ve already put in.

What gets me with that is we looked absolutely petrified of them from minute 1. We are the home side, unbeaten all season, at a place no team wants to come, and we rolled over like little wimps

They outfought us, outclassed us, outplayed us, were cleverer than us and genuinely wanted it more than us from kick off. I have no qualms with the loss, they are a great side and they will get 1 of the auto places without a shadow of a doubt

What i do have an issue with is the manner of the defeat. We couldnt do the basics right, we didnt string together more than 5 passes in a row, we never once looked like scoring, and Rudoni and Wright were fucking pathetic. Rudoni needs dropping and telling that as it is currently, hes a one season wonder, no coincidence for me the goals have dried up since his return. He's brought into his own hype and its the Rudoni show

Pissed off with how meekly we surrendered literally everything tonight. First time all season ive looked at us and thought 'hmmmmm'

Stats aren’t everything but take a look
Of course. Because after they scored, it was pretty much only them that looked like scoring again. The goal changed the game. Add the stats of the first half, to after they scored in the second and the stats look so much worse.

First half yes
Second half we got amongst them
I think we sat off them
We should have got the ball to emc and saka far quicker and put greaves and Guelph on the back foot
