like the fact we've conceded 8 in four games and had a mid table defensive record the last two seasons with mostly the same players?

I think they've all improved, I think we can get back to conceding fewer goals, and I think we can do that and still be effective going fwd.

I think our back five are good players. I think we'll struggle to keep up this pace if we let in two each game. I don't think that's warped.
Lampard has had automatics points levels since he has been here with our current defence. What more can he do apart from going more defensive or getting Doug to spend £10 million on a better back.

Me too. Just not convinced we've nailed down being a consistent enough defensive unit to finish where we are.

Same. But not sure we’d get anyone better in Jan at this point so might just have to make it through.
Pendulum fans are are always Billy Big Bollocks when it’s going well, then bedwetters when you get one bad result. Keyboard warriors are always quick to wade in to prove they were right all along. Every team will always have a weakest player. A squad can only have 25 players including loans. Any further depth has to be your own youngsters.

We are doing very well. There is still a long way to go. If we can keep the home form going and draw away we will be okay. Yes we will lose some. Every game is tough in this league, but it is the same for the other teams.

Some of us have consistently thought the defence was shite regardless of results tyvm

I mean, we should win, because we are significantly better than them.

Annoyingly, that's also been true for a decent number of the other times we've faced them there, too.
I remember Strachan saying before we finally won at Villa Park something like; there's no such thing as a hoodoo, we'll win there when we're good enough to.

Hopefully that'll be the case tomorrow night...

Going off their performance on Saturday their no. 2 Valentin was a constant threat down their right, albeit he was up against an ageing McClean but Dasilva will need to be on his game.

Dobbin and Devine were very sharp and will cause us a few problems and the big lump up front was a danger from set pieces.

However, their defence was extremely pedestrian and didn’t look comfortable on the ball so with our press and pace we should have a lot of success.

Oh and their fans were shit. Literally didn’t hear one song until they equalised.
Thierry Small is a very good player for them too.

We need to stop conceding our 2 goals a game ratio from last year.I said before the Ipswich game we looked suspect from the ball over the top and exactly how they scored there second goal Kitchin and Thomas are so slow and don't switch on and it's not for the first time. The full backs are that far up the pitch there is no cover. We have to find a way of keeping clean sheets away from home.It will be interesting to see how we react tonight.

Looking for a plan B if the 2 car parks I'd usually head for are full up. Where have people been parking before please? Just Park etc are all sold out close by.

I’m really nervous about this one and the upcoming run of difficult games. We are struggling to defend as well as we were and we have a number of goalscorers out, although hopefully most if not all - apart from BTA - will be back very soon.

If our season is going to get derailed then it is likely to happen over the next few weeks.

Let’s get a win tonight and calm my nerves!

We knew we had a difficult run of games right through November and December. So far we have won 5 lost 1. This is much better than anyone predicted yet the only conversation is about the game we lost.

The rest of December is difficult. But in reality after December we will have the easier games to come. We will have played away at Leicester, Stoke, Middlesbrough, Ipswich, Wrexham, Millwall, Preston and Southampton. That's all the top 6 sides plus the sides that have spent heavily or have good squads.

After Preston we have 3 home games and Southampton away to see us to the end of the year. I'm very happy with how this difficult run is going and knowing our remaining away games won't be as difficult as those we have already played.

Have we had 1 pen all season? Given the amount of time/touches we get in the opposition box it just doesn't add up really. Hopefully we can be a parachute team one day and get all the favorable shite decisions that come along with it.

We've had a couple or three sending offs.
