When the fixtures come out I writ this game off as not going, Tuesday night and we never win there

Naturally, the way the season has gone I have been sucked in and I have decided to go

Will be my thirteenth visit to Deepdale, not a single win amongst the previous 12, surely our luck has to turn there at some point
Surely we have to win there eventually?
If it were the other way around I’d be saying something like “PNE win as they surely have to one day”, you know what I mean? haha

Lucky 13 coming your way. 😎

it's true though, why would you care what people on another teams forum say?
Thats what we were saying about Leeds and SUFC last season. So it’s nothing unexpected anyway.
When Leicester went up it was looking nailed on at this stage.

As far as the bubble bursting…we’re Coventry City. We will have Wembley again ole ole. We are going up.

Going off their performance on Saturday their no. 2 Valentin was a constant threat down their right, albeit he was up against an ageing McClean but Dasilva will need to be on his game.

Dobbin and Devine were very sharp and will cause us a few problems and the big lump up front was a danger from set pieces.

However, their defence was extremely pedestrian and didn’t look comfortable on the ball so with our press and pace we should have a lot of success.

Oh and their fans were shit. Literally didn’t hear one song until they equalised.

What killed us in both of the last two seasons was conceding too many goals. It's the same players now except Rushworth, so Yeah, it's old habits. It's not a hot take to say that conceding goals at the rate we are rn could kill our chances of being promoted.
Same players...different attitude. Makes all the difference on the pitch, off the pitch, and on the terraces. This is a winning team with a winning mentality who've come on leaps and bounds...last two seasons it was 'hope for the best'...this season I'm genuinely excited!

One thing for me, we cannot play a back five, we don't have the personnel, we look distorted and players, including Rudoni, didn't know where to fit in. If you want to play KKH put he in Milan's or Saka's position not try to create a 'between' position for him, he overloaded midfield and took Rudoni's space. In fact when we are in possession Grimes falls back into a sweeper's position so works like a five anyway.
Do we need to win? We can still manage another loss and Boro have to win to incur progress, but I think a draw is on the cards.
I think we do have the personnel to play a back five, and if a team approaches a game with a pacy forward looking to be played in over the top (as I think more teams are likely to try against us) then that extra centre back could be useful.

And then assuming everyone is fit you could still have a midfield three of Grimes, Torp and Rudoni (with Eccles, Allen and Andrews backing up) and upfront you've got a choice of two of Wright, Simms and Thomas-Asante.

Admittedly MvE has never looked as effective as a RWB (which is surprising given he has the pace to play that role) and Dasilva has been susceptible to balls in behind (though that is part of what the extra CB is there to defend against) and KKH should have all the attributes to play as a WB.

Not saying we should play it all the time, just that IMO it's definitely an opposite with the squad we have.

Up until Saturday we had the 2nd best defensive record in the division
Some people get locked so much into a mindset that they ignore facts and evidential stats and endlessly go on with their warped perceptions.
They desperately wait for things to temporarily go awry, and bang on with the same arguments time after time.
Our defence is shit. It isn't. We attack and will always concede goals if we don't take our chances. If we attack to try to get goals back, we
will be open at the back with our defence up field.
Watch JDS have one bad game and they will be back. Simms have a drop off in form. Haji not come back firing, they will be back and so it goes.
Losing players to injury, suspension or sickness was always going to impact us more than the parachute teams. Likewise tiredness and a thin squad.
We have broke just about every record in the Championship book and some people are still not satisfied.

Pendulum fans are are always Billy Big Bollocks when it’s going well, then bedwetters when you get one bad result. Keyboard warriors are always quick to wade in to prove they were right all along. Every team will always have a weakest player. A squad can only have 25 players including loans. Any further depth has to be your own youngsters.

We are doing very well. There is still a long way to go. If we can keep the home form going and draw away we will be okay. Yes we will lose some. Every game is tough in this league, but it is the same for the other teams.

like the fact we've conceded 8 in four games and had a mid table defensive record the last two seasons with mostly the same players?

I think they've all improved, I think we can get back to conceding fewer goals, and I think we can do that and still be effective going fwd.

I think our back five are good players. I think we'll struggle to keep up this pace if we let in two each game. I don't think that's warped.

22/19 doesn’t equal 2

Wondering what effect the weather will have tomorrow? Don’t suspect it will help us.

The pitch isn't great apparently.

I thought he got sent off?

Either way it was a ridiculous decision and I believe Taylor admitted he got it wrong to Robins after the game.
I read it earlier that someone said he didn't get sent off, and I would have swore blind saying that was wrong. I remember about to walk down the steps into the concourse right by it when it happened. Just Googled it, and it was yellow.
