Some people need to have a lie down. People clamouring for us to chuck £8-£10m at anyone who'll take it just so they can dial down their transfer anxiety. That's a huge sum. Around a third of our total annual turnover, and all of our season ticket revenue. If we'd generated a shit load in sales, maybe, but we haven't sold anyone for big money for 2 years. Maybe we have it, maybe we don't, but it absolutely has to be the right deal and not a panic buy.

Depends what happens with Thomas, seems unlikely at the moment but no one outside the club has much idea on that. I'm sure we wouldn't let Thomas leave without a replacement already in, and we would then need another.

You never know what's true, what's just agents trying to drum up interest and what's just plain bollocks. Plus clubs don't have just one target for a position, there will be a list of players who fit the criteria and who we end up with will depend on what deal can be done.

Bang on. We’re past the days of signing players for the sake of it. We’ve got a squad that got to the play offs last year and already added 3 players to it. We are only going to sign quality and players with potential upside. A few more quality signings in the door by the end of the window and we’re good to go.
