We're doing ok and made some good chances. Bta had a real pen shout too. Keep the faith

If talking subs for me it would be Simms for BTA and Wright for emc
Yeah, bit of an overreaction. Its one game and the first game of the season and we were clearly missing Wright

I wasn't too put off about out performance at all

It will come. We probably should have had a penalty and twice we had our own players get in the way of a player trying to shoot inside the penalty area, in fantastic positions.

We can put better crosses in than we did today. Far too many were on a plate for their keeper.

Get Wright up to speed and bring one more striker in and we'll be fine I reckon. 👍🏻

An okay start to be honest. Better than Stoke last year but can’t help but feel Lampard needs to get the team to understand that there’s more than one way to skin a cat in attack.

As a positive, defence looked really solid overall and a clean sheet makes a welcome change from last season. Just worry we are a bit neutered in attack.

If Lampard is set on this, Simms should get a look in just to occupy defenders. Could even look to upgrade here

TBF it's a legitimate question to Lampard really, why aren't you using a striker the club paid £3m for who scored in a friendly last week? Why didn't you use him in the play off games where we were chasing a goal
It’s fair to ask a question as to why he didn’t play. Not to keep banging on about him not celebrating in a friendly and imaging conflicts between him and Lampard at Everton. It’s bizarre and comes across quite unprofessional.

I watched it on telly.

Thought the first half was decent..... although this is possibly because Hull at least vaguely attempted to make a game of it, which suited us.

2nd half..... could see the pattern from about 50-55mins in...... Hull had decided they were happy with a draw, and it was a non-event really...... time-wasting, injuries. Felt like nothing happened of note, just stop-and-start.

Crossing and low balls into the box weren't really up to much today..... can't really blame the strikers for that.

Frustrating..... but pretty much the same as last year and we finished 5th, so its not time to shit the bed just yet.

Didn't do nearly enough to win that. It's essentially the same team as last season so the same issues remain, we can't magic them away. Still, early days. Would probably take a point at Derby next week tbh., our record there is shocking.
Firmly expecting defeat there. Well managed and improved on the garbage we lost to twice last year.

It's quite clear he thinks Simms is a bit shit and would like to move him on, but he's not going to say that even if asked.

No plan B - again.

A nothing performance from Wright - again.

Zero impetus or attacking thread - again.

Not sure how we want to play the 3-2-5, which needs quick ball, but then play so ponderously.

There are some positives and obviously lots of time left, but what a frustrating start.
Wright has been injured for so long so not surprised, still think Simms should have been bought on.

That was all very underwhelming. Was hoping with the new coaching setup this would be the year we started a season all guns blazing but it was more like another preseason performance.

I do worry clubs have worked out how to play against us and we haven't managed to come up with another plan.

After one game?

One thing i didnt understand was EVERY attacking free kick, torp needlessly ran over the ball (fooling nobody) for Grimes to take the free kick. Didn't matter which side or where from. Same routine every time. It fooled nobody (apart from BTA the first time made a run for a ball that didn't come). So why do it? It was 100% obvious to me what was happening and would've been 100% obvious to Hull too! If its that obvious, put Torp in the box. It's an extra head that MIGHT get on the end of the glaringly obvious cross from Grimes. Or, mix it up and have Torp hit one every now and then.
