Frustrating generally. We’ll concede loads of goals from our flanks. We actually need KKH in for MVE. Dasilva, absolute liability, possibly the worst defensive nous I’ve ever seen. Too many very poor decisions in attack. There were positives. Thought Rushworth looked good as did Rudoni and Saka. In a nutshell all of last seasons issues remain.

A disappointing performance and result, marked by a lack of tempo and intensity.
BTA offers little goal threat and struggles to make an impact against teams that defend deep.
The centre-backs are not comfortable enough in possession, and upgrades are needed on both Thomas and Kitching.
There’s also a noticeable lack of depth and quality on the wings.

Hopefully, there will be some reinforcements before the transfer window closes at the end of the month—particularly in the winger and centre-back positions.

Wright can't play through the middle, it's painful to watch.

Play him on the left, or move him on and reinvest.

The rest I thought was promising. We just need some more creativity. I think jts clear why we were looking at Pereira, to offer some impetuous next to Grimes.

Gonna need a bit more from the elite tactician against sides that sit in than just 100 crosses per game.

Not going to judge though until the window shuts and we have our squad in place.
But by that time are we going to be chasing again - does feel we are maybe just 2 signings from a squad that can challenge

Very disappointing. Could tell it was going to end 0-0 about an hour in, I don’t think it’s even the individual attacking players that are the issue, the set up is just not conducive to creating chances.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say you’ve not quite grasped how the fullbacks work in this system.

That was pretty grim. Hull were well set up and we yet again could not break down a defensive side. There's absolutely no way Wright is ready to play, he didn't look right from the second he came on. Brau looked pretty hungry and up for it so looking forward to seeing more from him. Rudoni and JDS had good games.
Rudoni loses marks for that awful perm.

Did he lose a bet?

Two great chances for Rudoni, hit the bar, two free headers, two great chances for sakamoto, two brlilliant cut backs with nobody on the end. But wE didn't cReAtE aNyThInG 🥴

Few thoughts, if we are going to constantly pump crosses in we need a target Wright and Simms can do it BTA isn't your man. I thought EMC looked knackered at times picked up before he went off but overall I thought Saka was way more in the game and way more tricky he needs to pull his socks up. Beyond that defence looked decent but play style was a bit too ponderous at times.

Can we do a buy one get one free on BTA and Simms? Also could we stop pretending Haji is better through the middle than on the left... most the time he looks dire there.

Why the hell Lampard refuses to play him there I’ll never understand. BTA did OK up front but is beyond useless out wide. If you want to put Wright up front then Brau or another LW should have come on. But it should have just been a like for like.

Yes that Sunderland game was literally the exception to the rule
Absolutely, I swear people cling to that game like fucking limpets. Allen was very good in that game too if I recall, doesn't mean I want to see him on the pitch for us anymore.
