Bright and Robins (2 Viewers)

On a forum full of pointless threads, this one is right up there. Nearly 1,000 posts about a player who has/hasn’t done things off the pitch which has lead to him not featuring in a match day squad. On the face of it alone it’s mental. “Sorry wife/husband, I’ve just been arguing with someone who hasn’t even played for Coventry this season for the last three days”. Everyone needs to take just a little step back and not care quite so much about one of our players who is having very little to no impact on the everyday success or running of the club. He’s not the next Messiah, he’s also not the next Nile Ranger. He’s really not worth falling out over and regurgitating the same points over and over. If he sorts his shit out, great we *should* all be happy. If he doesn’t, he becomes history like your Kastaneers, your Kyle Reid’s etc. I understand a forum is for debate, but good debate requires logic and intellect and noone is really displaying that here.

You're probably right he's not the next Nile Ranger because he caused serious issues for various clubs but what's your source for that bit of information?
Would you say they're more credible than two fairly reliable sources on here who have said there are issues with Bright?

I don’t wanna spend the rest of the week having back and forths. I don’t know what you mean by what’s my source? If you mean “he’s not the next Nile Ranger”, I trust that what BD usually says is accurate. At the same time, he was selected to play 75 mins in an u23 game yesterday. He’s clearly not been “banished”, and although it could prove to be true, that doesn’t seem like the result of someone who’s contract is about to be ripped up. Especially by someone like Robins. He’s not a soft touch. I wish he’d get his act together. I think it’s unlikely. But I’m also aware there’s 40 odd games left this season (plus another year) and things can change quickly in football and I don’t want to lose my mind too much about a player who, although very unlikely, could end up being an asset without very clear reason to

My point is, and this isn't a pop at you, is that your post is as much supposition as anything else on here and its got likes from the posters who are saying its all rumour, no one knows the facts, but suddenly supposition is OK when it suits their agenda!

Very disappointed to see you throwing “agenda” around, that really is an Earlsdon route to be taking.

All he’s saying is that none of the wild rumours have been shown to have any truth in them, he’s still our player and clearly MR/ whoever is managing the situation (and clearly thinks it’s worth the effort), and as such this crazy over-the-top hatred is weird.

The notion that posters hate our players is absurd.

Earlsdon route, fucking hell!

It's not hatred, and what's weird about wanting the best for the club I spend a lot of money supporting?

My issue is “Dim” other assorted hilarious things. And being straight on the gifs when it was thought that he came off injured yesterday. Obviously think what you like, but stuff like that is going to get peoples backs up about what is one of our players. Plonker or not. It gives the impression that you don’t want him to succeed. If there wasn’t any of that then I doubt there would be much talk about him on here at all. Robins has said enough.

Again, the point (as I see it) is not doubting whether people are ‘real fans’ who want the best for the club, it’s that there is no ‘debate’ to be had on the topic, it’s mostly people pouncing on rumours & exaggerating them, which then forces the others to take the polar opposite view, they’re then jumped on- hardly a ‘discussion’ is it.

Take a look at some of the posts, gifs, immature name calling and attempts to discredit anyone and everyone who is merely saying “he sounds trouble but let’s wait and see”

How’s claiming that posters ‘hate’ players contributing to a debate? That’s not aimed at you in particular but it’s been bandied about for a while now.

No I do see your point, and I put that badly.

It’s too early for me to be coherent (if I ever am), but putting up ‘egg on face’ gifs to score internet points & then crowing about him being ‘injured’ when he wasn’t even substituted, and those views getting support even though they were both false, thus increasing this morbid obsession with Bright & the polarisation of all this- that’s the annoying thing.

I’m pretty sure I went on record saying he’s very naturally talented- I’d stick by that- I had no idea he wouldn’t play all this time & I may well be proven badly wrong, but I’m looking forward to seeing how good/ bad he is, and until then the rest is just rumour & silly exaggeration.. if MR thinks it’s not worth it he’ll be shown the door.

Who was crowing about him being injured?

Not at all self satisfied and potentially gloating that you’ve won some internet points?

Better Days had thought he’d gone off with a knock, as ive said with my Fred West analogy it’s reputation that proceeds. I wouldn’t have said that about Kelly would I?

I mean I’m sure I’m wrong. DIM is a term of endearment after all.

He clearly is dim. His behaviour over the years certainly suggests he’s not the sharpest tool in the box.

The Fred West analogy 🤣🤣🤣

Cov would give him the benefit of the doubt but would cover his arse by saying “he probably is up to his old tricks but that’s for the police to decide not the local neighbourhood watch”

I dunno.....I fucking hated John Eustace for a good while back in the day......but thats because the gorgeous "darkhairedbeauty" fancied him & not me......

.....and his complete bottle job in those last 6 games of that season didn't help matters.....

...anyhooo....back on topic..... this Bright chap......

Don’t know if I ever hated one of our players- Tim Sherwood immediately springs to mind as a strong possibility

When Les Sealey came back in ‘92 I think it was, he took a hell of a pasting from the crowd when he came out- but he didn’t give a toss, lapped it up with a smile on his face and actually shut the crowd up, that was the best response to booing I ever saw

76min is not being dragged off ….

Robins interview summed up the dilemma perfectly I thought.

he knows Bright will do best in front of a large crowd, he’d sooner have him on the bench thsn some options, but right now he’s not working hard enough to allows Robins to do it.

fair enough.

Bobby Gould received death threats which were treated seriously by the police his crime was replacing fan idol George Hudson. Only about 19 and scored goals

Sheaf and Walker would have reached similar levels last season with crowds. I saw someone on the deranged fb group say he wanted Bright in the squad over Sheaf and the amount of likes it got was worrying.

I have an account i use for advertising on there and have seen some of the stuff on there - including some of the stuff about Waghorn being an inferior number 9.
