Started a game with an experimental tactic 4-3-1-2 and its doing good. 43 games in and I'm 5th with an outside chance of 2nd. Signed up Liverpool as a feeder team, got Liam Miller and Tony Gallagher as squad players but only Millar has really played. Signed Idah from Norwich on loan and he's been immense, scored 33 in 39 with Walker alongside scoring 27 in 36. Got a chance in the playoffs if I can stay in there

Tyler Walker is the absolute business for me, Godden's not had a look in after an early injury

Think the honours were spread around last season, he was joint top for MOM awards with keeper Joe Wildsmith but Walker's led the average rating for three years running so far. Josh Pask and Dion McGhee on a free from Man Utd are also doing well, along with Eccles in the middle and the usual suspects of Hyam, Hamer, O'Hare and so on. Jordan Willis back in as well

I would say so, so long as you're used to the games each year being small improvements across the board rather than huge changes

Fired up an old FM 15 Sky blues save just before xmas and haven't stopped playing.

I remember why I stopped and it was due to a few players moaning a lot about not playing, as I rotated a bit, so I got pissed off with it, but able to handle that aspect a bit better now.

Been City manager for 10 years from league One and doing v well winning 2 PL titles on the trot! That is all...

p.s. It's also the best contraceptive I know...

i've also got a new regen player in my youth ranks described as the "new Paul Gascoigne" !!!

Very excited by that, but a bit worried one of the older players will take him drinking a bit too early on in his career.....

After losing in the playoff semis I had a poor season where I finished 12th (still miles better than the media prediction of 20th) so Pask and Bapaga were sold by the board for £13m and £10m respectively

The good part of the season was Tyler Walker storming the top scorer by loads and also getting player of the year

Which makes the bookies' odds on him retaining seem a little steep

After winning the PL for a 3rd time and also adding the 'Champions Cup(league)' with Cov I jumped ship!!

Barcelona came calling after Messi had retired, Neymar and unbelieveably Suarez was still playing for them at 39 (he scored 20, two seasons on the trot before retiring)

Won LaLiga and on course to win a 2nd time.

Pep took over Cov and won the PL at a canter and has spent shit loads after I was a bit prudent.

One of the reasons I moved to Barca was due to the fact City wouldn't build a new stadium due to the lack of interest from their fanbase! go figure...

@ajsccfc fair play on your 1st PL season with City!
Do you Screenshot then crop a bitbefore posting on here?

This is my current setup, always tend to favour this formation but player roles can depend on if I've got the players to fit

I've been using exactly the same 4-2-3-1 formation with inside forwards but sometimes use as wingers if approprate, but my striker is usually false-nine or deep-lying.

Just recently bought this, and had a completely bonkers first season where ourselves, Norwich, Brentford and Bournemouth all racked up over 100 points and we went up through the play-offs. Personal highlight was a 7-1 demolition of Villa away with Gyo managing to bag 4.

Pure insanity

The best games I’ve ever had on FM have been when I’ve been sacked from a job and just ended up playing as completely random teams.

I got sacked from Charlton on one game ended up at Bari in Serie B, got them to be a yo-yo club for a few years before they binned me off. Quickly god the Brescia job, got them promoted and progressed every year till I was a champions league regular. Then AC Milan treble winners. Liverpool where I got sacked for finishing 11th then won the PL with Stoke.

Too many times you play and you end up just achieving impossible shit straight off the bat. I see people who win 10 PLs in a row with Weston-super-Mare or some shit.

It was mental really, we scored 135 and conceded nearly 70. Morale is always important in FM and if you get off to a winning start it can snowball but never like that. Also never been in a situation where 4 teams got over 100, hell of an introduction to the game.

The side is therefore seriously understrength for the top flight but had a strong window so will see what happens.

Think I’ve reached my ceiling with City. Year 2035 and I just cannot break into the top 4. Routinely finishing 5th or 6th year on year. I’ve won the UEFA cup three times, the FA cup once and the League Cup twice with my team of “wonderkids” though. Shit out early on in champions league at three attempts.

In FM20 it took me a fair bit, do you find you’re consistently below top 4 or are you struggling in a particular part of the season?

Mid season like clockwork I drop right off. Usually sit in second or third until around 15 games. Then nosedive for a bit and pull it back last third.

First season finished 6th, form surged after Christmas after a run of 8 defeats in 9. Strange how it went between two extremes
