Nope. It's an achievement, but I was kind of hoping for midtable to be honest. We can still do that of course.

You were hoping for midtable this season after just being promoted from league 1? Pfffft

Based on results. Robins is the second worst manager we’ve had in this league isn’t he?

This entire thread is your worst nightmare, isn't it? It's alright, he won't get the job, you'll get through this.

Their owner has long admired Robins that's where the (tenuous) link comes from.
The story is all ifs, mights & maybes, just Nixon putting 2 & 2 together as obviously a slow news day.

You are probably right, I don't know Nixon or anything about him. I only know that their owner is the lansdowne Hargreaves financial guy. I wasn't aware he has been a long time admiror of Robins, if that is the case does that not give this a little bit more credibility? Although if he is such an admirer why hasn't he tried to get him in the past?

We WERE expecting a relegation battle though weren't we.

If we stay up this year, next season is the season to truly judge as to whether Robins is good enough at this level.

As long as he gets a budget bigger than 3 other teams.

I suppose if he does go, we should get Jackett on the phone...
Fuck that It would go like this, phone wilder and beg " hi Chris, listen we don't have a pot to piss in but we'd stay out your way and let you manage the club from top to bottom ....pleaseeeeeeee"

He'd say no but if that wasn't the first call made even just to try then I'd be disappointed

Panic mode has set in for some.

‘Boddy said we’ll have a bottom 2 budget next season if we stay up, I wouldn’t blame Robins for going’

There’s something in the story. Very close to nothing though.

Love the bloke for his efforts but if he goes what can we do , I'm with you though I see it as pretty much a nothing story , especially with certain managers being out of a job

Wipe your tears my darling I’ll get through anything on here but you (or are you an us?) I suspect will struggle if you hang around football threads for too long. Go back to Wokeland where you (sorry could be they) belong

Nixon just reports everything everyone else does and in the end some of it sticks

Hey David the pubs open tomorrow - are you getting the nitroglycerin stored up for a train trip to Birmingham to celebrate the good old days?

Hopefully Bristol keep pearson ...it's one more team that won't progress much next season .

I'm all for it 🤞

I don't know what to make of Pearson, he seems a bit of an idiot, but he didnt half do well with Leicester, I don't think he has don't much since.

Didn’t half do well. Good choice of words, given the backing he got and the underwhelming win %

He did well with Leicester, they had a great scouting network and millions upon millions invested too .

Rihad mahrez for 400k etc.

But that's a very different world to Bristol city

Ultimately Leicester got better when pearson left

Although a lot say he set the foundations for that team's success, his performances since doesn't suggest that to be the case.
