Anybody know what happened to that sports bar at the back of the casino? Never went in on a match day but watched the boxing in there once and it was pretty decent.

I think it was turned into a storage room at one stage. Really shame. Hope the new one up top is as good.

Really? It's pretty weird as if they made the effort it would have been great for football (and rugby now) fans to go in and watch sport and spend money.

At one point they used to show the Cov game on the screen in there. It was decent tbh.

Used to go in there before and after most games, was class. Instead, you were then either crammed into Lady G’s or aimlessly wandering around the casino with a beer in your hand. I think it was labelled as being a financial decision, but was a real shame. Loved it.

You'd assume they wouldn't close it if it was busy so presumably it wasn't worth retaining. Not a good sign for the new bar Wasps are building. Although yet again somehow they've got others paying for it.

Can't imagine the casino are happy that Wasps are opening a bar right by their entrance which is bound to take custom away. Lets face it nobody is making a trip up there to go to a bar so it will be existing customers choosing the sports bar over the casino.

Would you use this knowing the money goes to Wasps?
Yes, i know well be paying them x amount rent etc..."

But would the money go to Wasps? Surely it would have a private owner like the casino?

I remember when they used to show the game on the concourse. I'm certain some stayed down there for 80% of the game.

Wait, there was a bar full of people who went up to the Ricoh but watched the game at the casino instead?!

I used to prefer going in there before games, however there was never enough bar staff on and service was very slow.

It definitely happened.

Really bizarre.

Like those youtube reviewers constantly going on aeroplanes.

'BIG TRIP TO AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND.'

Never even leave the airport.

Last time I went to the Ricoh as you walk into the main entrance there was a bistro type bar to the left, is this new sports bar going to be located where this and the club shop were?

It's called the Mill and the new sports bar is going were the old club shop is.

So a choice of places to have a few beers before a game.

So is that three places to drink at the ground now with the casino?

i wouldnt be surprised if allowed at seats soon also , safer with covid than crowding in concourse

The only problem will be if we get a goal and people start throwing beer about nobody wants covering in beer and I would guess Muslim fans would be very unsettled by it.

Yeah it relies on fans being grown up and not dickheads.

I can't think of anything better than a nice beer on a decent sunny day watching football. It's always good when you play Nuneaton or non league teams (Leamington too) where you can just have a beer and watch the game.

Brasseire has always been there. It used to be called Singers but Wasps rebranded it. Not sure why you'd rebrand to remove the connection to Coventry to something generic.

The new bar can cover 180 covers. So looking at the images doest look like its going to have much room for casual drinking. Looks more of a restaurant with a few table games.

Is that the other side to the casino where the players go in or next to the casino?

You go through the main entrance, and it’s on the left.
