He’s hopeless. He shows no movement had no instinct as a striker and wins nothing in the air with any direction or purpose. He’s hopelessly out his depth even biamou has more assets as a central striker

In an ideal world we wouldn’t have either but we do so got to make the best of it. If he’s gash at least put someone up with him

It really isn't about Allen, he and O'Hare are covering a huge area of the pitch as Sheaf and Kelly sat so deep. Allen's running of the ball is intelligent. Bapaga would face the same problems he is.
Difference is we need someone who can use the ball he’s far too weak and doesn’t impose himself he’s not even close to the level

We look out of balance, we have the players on the bench to remedy that and could put a totally different attack out second half. Bakayoko hasn’t looked like getting to any of the number of crosses at all.
Still think a point atleast is achievable probably down to good substitutions now.

We gradually improved our crossing towards the end of the half. Too many deep crosses to no one early on, been a theme for a while.

The pen decision was a joke.

Mixed bag half, some decent performances some pretty poor ones. Should have scored at least 1 but likewise could easily be 2-3 nil down. Never a pen, but you cannot miss chances like the Allen header at this level.

Disagree. He’s won a fair amount in the air and infinitely more than Walker did the other night. He needs to close down better though. I suspect he’s there so Wilson has an out.

Looks that way, not playing it out from the back and going direct.

Bakayoko has won a fair few knock downs.

We've spurned a couple of chances like always but by no means look out of it.
With Hamer and Walker to come on, I'm almost optimistic.
Don't think Allen is playing badly and Dabo has been immense.

All I want from a match is to maximise our chances of getting something from the game but like the 4-2-3-1 the other week it's completely hamstrung if we play that deep. Rather have 2 up front and one of the box AMs deeper to link it a bit more in the 2nd half.

I'd make a triple substitute, walker, Biamou and hamer on for baka, Allen and Shief.

The box is not the way to just have a go at sides, if you’re going to play the 3 CBs go 2 up top

With Godden out, it’s entirely possible that Walker has picked up a knock and simply isn’t fit enough to start a game.

Given the choice, I imagine the management would rather Hamer and Walker be 100% for Derby than risk them against Norwich.

Let’s be honest, this fixture is a v difficult game even at 100%.

May as well get Bapaga on early and get him running that this Norwich left back. They don’t look like they can handle pace but we’ve got so little of it in this side.
That could be a good shout kid has raw pace and could be real secret weapon late on.

That’s possible too, I just think at 1 down anyway and their defence getting murdered by Dabo we need someone extra up there

Dear Mark,

Please stop playing Jamie Allen. He is awful.

Sincerely,
Everyone at SBT
I don't think he's an awful player, but seems to struggle physically at this level and he is not quick at all. Whenever he receives the ball you just know he's going to end up getting tackled, done for pace, easily pushed off it etc.

It was a half chance at best, poor ball from Dabo
