Its plausible he could have taken a wage cut to join us next summer in which case Arsenal are making up the shortfall for the next 12 months.

not sure if this has been posted before

Reading that reminds me a lot of Walsh in his first few games for us. Not used to the pace of the division but once he is...

The hold up may have been Arsenal wanted him out permanently, we only wanted a loan, so we’ve met in the middle?

It’s one of three things isn’t it?

we’re not 100% on him
He’s not 100% on us
We are waiting for Wilson to go to have the cash
Edit: 4) Were going to replace him with Liam Walsh after we get promoted.

Seams like best of both worlds. If he is amazing we get him for a bargain price. If he doesn't fit in we haven't lost anything. win win for us

How do they actually work? I thought if another club match it he can speak to them? Can’t remember who but happened to another club

There’s an obligation to buy and then an option to buy, I think the second one is free for all if other clubs match it

If it's an obligation to buy then it would have just made sense to buy him surely... Hmmm
Maybe we don't actuly have the money yet, or maybe city want another permanent and can use that money now... Who knows

Just a thought, but could sheaf’s signing all hinge on Callum Wison’s Departure from Bournemouth?
It would explain the ridiculous drawn out saga.

You do realise signings take time dont you, it's not like FIFA or football manager ;)

His dream is to play for Arsenal maybe he didn’t want a permanent move & wanted a loan how do these things work ? Can the player refuse even tho we have an agreement on a loan to buy deal ?

I don’t see us spending anymore after this even if Wilson goes robins will want some money for the mid season transfer window

Knowing city we will have something like that and stop playing him after 19 lol
Rumours he wanted first team football guarantees? Maybe this is a similar deal where he has said of he plays X amount of games & we avoid relegation

If it's a dry loan does that mean we ca expext more signings?

Didn't robins say 3 maybe 1 depending on budget? Now that it's not perm it may mean room for manoeuvre?

If I had the video editing skills and patience I’d love to try and do one of these for god awful players and see how good you can make them look. I always wonder. He does look class though.
This in one seasons highlights, not gathered over years.

Maybe it a loan initially due to financial fair play rules.
We’ve already spent more money than we expected sisu to spend, so a loan for 12 months makes sense.

Assuming the option to buy is our favour this sounds like a very good deal. He either comes in and doesn’t fit and goes back or has a good season and make 750k looks like a bargain.

There is now genuine competion for many places in the team - if all fit and even you exclude those clearly designated as cover, like Baka.

Four central defenders for 3 slots, three central midfielders for 2 slots, two strikers for one slot. Potentially four for the two flank positions up front. It looks like only Marosi, Dabo and Giles are not under pressure.
