Bit of a trap because anyone would be mad to rule it out. If we leave and everything goes to shit and an overwhelming percentage of people want to rejoin should he just keep refusing? Of course that level of detail doesn't come over and he ends up looking a bit ridiculous.

Not as much as the papers at the weekend who had headlines declaring nearly half the country wants to rejoin which when you then read the article was the results of a poll showing 46% rejoin against 54% leave!

It is a trap, but when your campaign rests on your ability to avoid such traps falling into one isn’t a great look.

it is, and I said it needed someone to reach to both wings of the party making him ideal. But his stance on the EU won't get him/Labour anywhere. Also a bit dodgy that he won't reveal all of his backers when all the other candidates have.

I don’t believe labours hand wringing excuse that the brexit policy was mainly to blame for their failure but if we acknowledge that view it’s Mr Starmers strategy and it was a mess. Creating more ambiguity now isn’t a very clever idea and will be latched on

the selection process is what it is, Corbyn resigning on the spot wouldn't have speeded it up, as in leaving his post as he did resign, their would have been a temporary leader while the process was completed.

Is the selection process too long winded, probably.

It’s been extended by the Corbynites to add in the affiliates stage I believe as they thought that’d give their candidates more chance. So in a way, you can blame Corbyn.

Nope. Voted Nandy this election and Smith the last one. Voted Corbyn in 2015 because the others were terrible and I felt the country wanted radical change but post Brexit was clear he was a bad choice and they’d got the radical change from Brexit so that vote was gone.

Nope. Voted Nandy this election and Smith the last one. Voted Corbyn in 2015 because the others were terrible and I felt the country wanted radical change but post Brexit was clear he was a bad choice and they’d got the radical change from Brexit so that vote was gone.

Nandy blew it with me in her Andrew Neil interview. She'd been doing well up until then.
