Wow! Bit of a chess match that-fair play to Pompey who deserved a point and stopped us playing. A bit of a smash and grab that we are on the right end of for a change.

O hare is the best player excluding forwards we’ve had here for years and along with Walsh are a great combination

A great finish by Godden and hopefully he can fire himself up - if fit he should start Saturday

Indeed, few clueless types on here can't see why O'Hare is playing

And as for Godden again it's the ability to gamble on a ball through

Get in. A game of 2 halves, but what spirit from the boys!!

Great finish by Godden.

On another note, the pitch has deteriorated badly over the last month.

You know having a good keeper and defending well is part of the game don’t you?

Yeah I was a bit concerned when Robins opened with 1. e4 and Jackett went for the Open Sicilian but credit to Godden for finding the knight manoeuvre on move 46.

Haven’t read the match thread. Hope it wasn’t all doom, gloom, taxis and “change it”. Better side at a push for first half. Bossed it second and bringing a clearly unfit Godden on at the end was excellent management. Surely after that we are now well and truly on our way.

Another clean sheet. Gritty performance and a nicely worked goal. This is the sign of a very good team. Well done to MR, the team and everyone else involved.

It was! So annoying. Portsmouth were a big effective outfit and we won

When teams at the top grind out results when they're not always playing brilliantly it's a sign that they are promotion material.
If that's us, I'm very happy with it.

What a fantastic result!

It was a close game and could have easily been a draw, I dont think I was overly pessimistic when predicting 1-1. The difference between automatics, playoffs and missing out is getting those results. I'm made up.

Now to get ready for the next biggest game of the season.

Massive three points, awful game. I don't know how Portsmouth won nine in a row, they are awful.
