Some of you guys must sleep really badly. Why the rush to sign players? Do you or don't you trust MR? It's his job to get us promoted and mine to support him and the team as best I can.

Because I think pre season is important. Last minute deals tend to inflate the price/wage. If they fall through they can result in a panic buy or you struggle along until Christmas.

I think the Chaplin sale has taken the club by surprise and now they are scrambling a bit to get someone in

We're all City daft (if you hadn't noticed) and this is the inevitable pre-season nerves/excitement spilling over onto a footie forum. A lot of the content is tosh*, but allows us to vent our spleen and chat with similarly afflicted people, 'mates/enemies', hence the occasional 'squabble'. No harm done.

It shouldn’t have we already turned down Barnsley’s first Offer always good chance they were coming back

The first offer did though and that changes plans and now we will be looking at loans as replacements

Agree with integration, but thats also determined by the character of the incoming player.

Re the second bit - what are you basing that on?

my work colleague is a big forest fan and has good connections, word their end is they will have to announce an incoming striker before walker is sent out as they only have one other striker themselves currently

Let's be honest the substantive squad is no stronger than it was 6 months ago, arguably weaker as we've lost two strikers in JCH and Chaplin and at this moment replaced them with nobody.

Exactly. The teams biggest problem was goals and we’ve reduced the squad in that area especially when you factor in brights contribution as well

A fit Biamou was keeping JCH out the side......and Chaplin wasn't gonna ever get in our starting 11. Cheer up pal

GK - Stronger
Defence - probably stronger, at worst the same.
Midfield - Stronger
Wingers - Stronger
Forwards - weaker

I'm not sure (in terms of substantive squad) we are weaker.

I agree we need to fix the goals issue, but we are stronger in most other areas.

Biamou who has never scored a league goal in this league against a player who scored 17 last season

The real question is how many teams serious about promotion would have biamou in the starting 11

Most other areas didn’t really need fixing anyway

On balance, we've improved midfield (I know Allen is a good signing) but we don't know about the rest of the squad and we've definitely regressed in our striking options.

LOL at Bill Oddie going on about Biamou keeping JCH out of the side? At this level he hasn't, he's never even played at this level in reality and is coming back from serious injury.

Whilst I agree, I do feel like we have done good business elsewhere. I have to say, it is a massive concern that we are a week away from the start of the season with Bakayoko and Biamou as our centre forward options. I know some of us have hope that Hiwula could be the central frontman, but from preseason and games like Luton away last season I am yet to see it

Agreed, absolutely no way he can play that role, he's far more effective playing where he does.

But hasn't Robins said he's still after 2 attacking players? What's the panic? We're miles ahead compared to where we normally are this stage of pre-season.

We should have sorted our striker out by now, particularly after having sold Chaplin. Even if someone comes in now it could result in a slow start and I hope we don't regret it at the end of the season.

People have short memories. Was is Mowbray that said the season doesn't really start until Saptember? Our squad has already been together a month, no loans, just one or two to add. People should cherish the way it's been organised this year.

LOL I suppose all the points won before then don't count then?

I was highlighting that we've had managers with no squad in place by now. Mowbray being the biggest clown. You're so quick to jump on anything anyone says!! It's getting annoying,
