Fits in with the new housing and community developments nearby.

Would need to be a community based ground with facilities which would benefit local residents.

15/20 min walk to the station would be handy, especially with services from Birmingham and London for away fans.

Will never, ever happen though.

Everyone should be behind this.

If you don't believe SISU will build a stadium then pressure on the council to move it forward and calls SISU's bluff.

Absolutely no reason the council can't agree the same terms here they have with Wasps for Car Park C at the Ricoh. They've been given a license guaranteeing a right to buy a lease. That gives them until the license expires to get planning permission approved without having to actually buy the land. Do the same here, give SISU 12 months to put up or shut up.

Half of that is Tile hill wood nature reserve.
Maybe it is the land owned by CCC rather than the land under discussion.

I wonder what the local plan designates those areas as?

I agree. Can't quite imagine SISU having a feel for supporters' needs, mind you!
Yup. If they are looking at concerts etc, it's quite likely to be another 'soulless bowl.'

I still don't believe for a second that Sisu would built it though anyway.

The highways agency wouldn’t allow it full stop and it would never get planning permission
On what specific points would it be blocked by the Highways agency and fall foul of planning regulations?

People talk like every other ground is next to a motorway with parking for 50K cars. There's plenty of grounds, and venues for other events with huge numbers of spectators, that are in locations with similar issues. They all cope somehow.

I did suggest this would be a good site on Friday on a seperate thread, the only problem I can foresee is that some blocks are listed buildings.

Woodlands Academy is a site that stands out from that list.

If SQM in the columns relates to Square Metre, then given the size per SQM only a handful of sites are realisitc. As a comparison the Ericsson Exhibition hall inside the Ricoh is 6,000sqm, which Woodlands exceeds.

If we all agreed a date, turned up with shovels and started digging - we could claim squatters rights.
In all seriousness though, it would be great for a suitable venue to be found.

So what - the council and Solihull council are allowing the destruction of a massive green belt area to accommodate 10,000 houses and a shopping precinct which everyone locally objects to

Which is disgusting. Directive from central govt and local govt complicit. Can't trust any politicians ever.

Even if it materialises, it won't be ready for next season or probably the season after either, so we would still need a place to play in the interim.
One thing you can guarantee, these things take a lot longer and cost a lot more than expected.

Some of Woodlands school is listed? Never knew that
As an ex pupil — this surprises me. It is 50’s concrete and was falling down when I was there 30 years ago.

From memory there would be plenty of space for a stadium without demolishing all of the old buildings. I’m basing this on old memories of what it was like back then, so it may have changed in the meantime.

Bugger! Sold my house in Tile Hill years ago! Wish I'd known! I might've been able to walk along to the City ground!

Curious, could you name any that have been recently built in such a built up residential area as this ?. Access would be shocking
