We are in crisis (1 Viewer)

Each time we've sacked a manager it has been entirely justified, going back to (and excluding) Eric Black. Reid, Adams, Coleman, Boothroyd, Thorn, Pressley, Mowbray-there was no good argument for keeping them when they went. Robins is persisting with a busted flush and is unwilling to even try changing the formula.
We are not getting hammered though, losing your the odd silly goal or mistake . if we scored a fraction of the goals we should have from build up play we’d be top six... Honestly believe that with a striker who could score we are there or thereabouts. Our defence is ok ( If we were scoring ) our midfield has creativity and strength ( but are now seriously lacking confidence as they just know we won’t score ) and our strikers are totally lacking confidence
So unless someone else can come in a get our strikers scoring I’m not sure what difference any change would make

We were indulging in the same style of football for about 3/4 of last season and it was only once the shackles came off that results picked up. We've spent £1 million on 3 strikers, 1 of whom can't hit a barn door, another is constantly played out wide and the other has been made persona non grata by a man who called him a future fans' favourite. The manager is a striker but can't get any of the forwards to take the gilt edged sitters they get every week.

You're right, the defence hasn't had many howlers this season-but when the game plan is to soak pressure it only takes 1 mistake and the game is gone. Nobody expects perfection from Robins-he is working under difficult circumstances and mid table is what most of us predicted going into this season. But I do expect a manager to actually reflect on why games are being lost and at least try something in response. He instead sets the team out in the same way every week and makes like for like or last minute subs. He is either unwilling or unable to change the formula.

What are these difficult circumstances Mark Robins is working under ? Apart from a couple of injuries here and there he has had more or less his strongest players available for weeks, a squad again more or less he has assembled. We are half way through the season and as yet I’m not sure of our best team or formation and worryingly I get the feeling Robins doesn’t, that’s a worry.

We haven't got very good players, it's that simple. We bought bad and there is very little aggression in the team. If Doyle is out we hardly put a tackle in and seldom get yellows for roughing up the opposition.

Doyle wasn't really putting tough tackles in either.

No idea why there's no fight in the rest of them, age is not an excuse.

Ive absorbed a shed lead of media, the odd rumor and have spent a lot of time watching the goings on on the bench, so I know next to nothing, but...i don't like the look of MR or his laCky, reminds me of Strachen...enough said.
We're missing Doyler and if the lacky's had a tiff with him i know h who I'd rather see through the exit door.
What the hell were those subs about 89 abd 92 mins

Because the two year cycle of managers has done us brilliantly over the last 25 years
Unfortunately we have a large part of our fan base who expect us to get back to back promotions to the premership.
Ffs we got promoted last season. Most still living in reality would be happy with a mid table finish this season and build from there.

The boo boys and the clock ticking brigade are now out in force when some on here were non existent a few months a go.

Lets have another manager cause thats always worked hasnt it

No way do we sack the only manager to bring a smile to our faces in recent history... with a cup and promotion in the last two seasons... we are where we are because of one thing, we can’t score bloody goals!!!!

Need to invest in January and get a seasoned striker at this level.

To be fair to robins Chaplin looked like he could be that man, but for whatever reason it just isn’t happening

He scraped us into the play offs in league 2.

i don,t think we'd get a better manager than MR, we might, but probably not. I just don't like what i see and hear from him.

I doubt that very much. But considering the appalling effort and performances of late I think we have every right to be concerned. We are heading for relegation and can not see any hope at this moment in time of avoiding it. So something needs to be done. Either robins changes things up and we start producing results or if he doesn’t then he may as well go!! I like him and would rather he stayed but he needs to change because stubborn is sending us down.

I don't think it's about expecting back to back predictions. When the manager sees games differently to everybody else in the ground and doesn't see the major issues it is worrying.

We shouldn't accept one up front on his own in the last minute at one nil down and then 2 changes for the sake of it. We weren't trying to get at them.

Do we want a mid table finish where we have rolled over and let shit teams bully outfight and beat us? Before the season I'd have been happy with mid table and still would, it's the manner of it.

Trouble is you just can’t see how this changes trying to nick 1-0 wins playing so defensive poor subs will not change things add that to poor recruitment the budget has been wasted.

I look at man utd for inspiration here. Jose playing awful negative football, slow, lethargic and no purpose to attack. He's gone, ole comes in and says, go and fucking attack. They win 5-1. Now we aren't man utd, I don't want MR replaced but what I do want is for us to say, fuck it let's go out attack.

We know our defence is capable of holding their own, trust them and let's let the shackles off. Hiwula, chaplin, Thomas bayliss. Kelly and ogogo both say their natural position is further forward. I'm not gonna work out the best team here but just unleash them a bit, because this negative shit is clearly not working

We need a target man in Jan with a bit of experience that should make all the difference between mid table and a relegation battle.

I find it utterly depressing fans talking about mid table in League One like it's some kind of achievement. This club doesn't have a divine right to success but we should have higher expectations than this. If you settle for mediocrity, that's what you will get !

We are in a crisis. Where’s the skipper? We need men not boys. Sort it MR or stand down.

Lol we aren’t a crisis (off the pitch maybe) but on the pitch that’s a bit ott.

We will finish 12/14 place this season. Won’t finish higher unless we find a goal scoring partner for JCH. Simple.

Well actually, if you look back......changing the manager at crucial times kept us in the top league for 34 years.
Agreed and if we had changed manager after the Everton game we may have stayed up, but we stuck with Strachan look where that got us!

A load of bollocks. If we had bought John Hartson just couple of months earlier, we would have stayed up easily.
It was a master stroke buying Hartson, He masterminded greatest escape of all didn’t he at White hart lane.

Keeping thorn as well of course condemned us to relegation

There is some truth in that, but I would only consider sacking Robins if we were really in a relegation dogfight. Not there yet and mid-table for us is just fine if we end up there end of season.

the next 3 will determine the season i think
lose all and then it becomes a crisis
4 points would be excellent from where we are and stop the rot - I would take that right now

Can I ask all of you that are happy to accept finishing mid table whether you are willing to watch the same dross for the rest of the season. I cannot understand why MR keeps setting up the team not to concede rather than getting on the front foot. It’s boring and it’s clearly not working. It’s precislely what got Mourinho sacked.

If we went all guns blazing against Charlton and got spanked 6-2, would you say - that's better! I've been entertained. Or would you boo like mad at the end of the game and give the players dogs abuse? I am, of course, assuming you attend the matches. And yes, of course I want us to win, and be entertaining.

Better then trying to defend being 1-0 down isn't it?

The team isn't good enough for better than mid-table though. Don't think it matters who we have as manager with this squad. We will still have strikers that cannot score.

January is pivotal to our fortunes

We weren’t heading for promotion when we won five on the bounce, we aren't heading for relegation now.

If the 5 wins on a row are pure fluke and this now is the norm that’s exactly where we are heading

Changes needed then, no goals and we keep on sliding.
