Burge - Hot and cold. Some good saves, but distribution was pretty poor
Grimmer - Not one of his better games
Haynes - I'd rather have Stokes
Hyam - I thought he looked pretty solid
McDonald - Doesn't seem to be the player we had at the start of the season
Kelly - No comment
Doyle - He does give the ball away. Quite often actually
Bayliss - I don't think we need to panic about SISU cashing in on him. A player should be able to pass to a team-mate whether he's n his favoured position or not.
Reid - Looked lively, my MotM
JCH - Didn't do much and was pretty anonymous but was there when it mattered
McNulty - worked hard for little reward

Biamou - Not on on enough to make any impact.
Barrett - Why?

Burge 8 made some crucial saves at 0-0
Grimmer 6 offered little going forward but was relatively untested defensively
Hyam 7 solid throughout didn’t put a foot wrong
McDonald 7 same as Hyam was solid throughout
Haynes 6 decent going forward but got caught out a few times defensively
Bayliss 5 evidently not a winger
Kelly 6 offered nothing going forward and was relatively poor on the ball but was fairly solid in front of the back 4
Doyle 6 some good passes throughout but pulled out of some challenges most likely due to the pending suspension after next yellow card
Reid 6 few decent runs but far too greasy today
McNulty 5 offered very little and missed some golden opportunities
Clarke-Harris 7 poses a challenge to their defence with his physicality but offered nothing else in the final third until a good run for his goal

Biamou N/A
Barrett 5 offered nothing and clumsy on the ball

Dire game, the only saving grace was the 3 points.

Burge - 6. Pretty solid but wasn't really tested apart from 1 effort in the first half.

Grimmer - 5. Seemed slow and was pretty wasteful. Got better as the game went on.

McDonald and Hyam - 5. Shouldn't be letting a team as bad as that get as many opportunities as they did.

Haynes - 5. I'm a fan but thought he was lack lustre today. Improved as the game went on.

Bayliss - 4. Worst game I've seen him play. Was wasteful in some good positions in the second half. Still love him though.

Kelly - 6. Not great but seemed to break up the play in some key moments.

Doyle - 7. My MOTM. Had some classic Doyle moments but seemed to be everywhere. We rely on him a great deal.

Reid - 7. Lively, was the only standout in the first half. Shame to see him go off in the second half.

Clarke-Harris - 7. Did well to get on the end of a scuffed shot for the goal. Put himself about but I wish he'd stop playing for fouls.

McNulty - 6.5. His usual lively self and improved as the game went on. Lacked his usual cutting edge though.

Subs:

Barrett - 6. looked better and more useful than I've seen him.

Biamou - 6. Showed dome good touches, put himself about as usual. Feel a bit sorry for him losing his place tbh.

Burge - 0 Grendel doesn’t rate him. Two very good saves. Slowed the game down too much but it’s not Burge it’s direction from manager. My mom
Grimmer - 6 cos he’s not on Grendels hate list. Lots of effort, beaten too easily but so poor final ball time and time again
Hyam - 6 as above got some good blocks but again distribution and positioning poor
McDonald - 6.5 poor first half but solid second half
Haynes - 0 Grendel doesn’t rate him so even though he does reasonably no credit can be given
Doyle - 6.5 the only person who attempts forward passing and he’s not too good at them
Kelly - 6.5 second half playing further forward looked better. He needs some freedom and to be let of the shackles. He’s a good player
Bayliss - 6.5 - kept trying all game its not happening at the moment but the groans from the crowd are bloody annoying
Reid - 6.5 only guy passing and looking to run at players
Clarke-Harris - 6.5 purely for the goal. Shocking effort first half instantly better second half, excellent movement gambling on McNulty mishitting the shot
McNulty - 7 even when team were poor he was putting the effort in and hassling their back four, on his own

Subs

Barrett - 6.5 thought he was excellent on the ball, shame we ran out of kits for him to wear so had to wear an u-12 kit
Biamou - 0 Grendels rules

Robins - 3 poor

No pattern - set up to slow the game, play with no energy and look to nick a goal. Really don’t understand it at all

Baylis 4 wrong position

Burge 6 made two good saves kicks poor.
Grimmer 5 did well with the goal but otherwise poor.
McDonald 5 where is the player we had at the beginning of the season. Tried several times to set Barnet up.
Hyam 6 Didn't do anything wrong but didn't dominate at all.
Haynes 3 absolutely awful. Out of position continually scared to tackle. Bring back Stokes.
Bsyliss 4 Again really poor looked to be blowing out if his arse for the last 20 minutes. Needs to play in the correct position.
Kelly 4 What exactly does he offer? Can he pass the ball forward.
Doyle 6 Broke up their play well but distribution poor.
Reid 6 Best player in the first half by a distance. Surprised he was taken off as he seems the only one who can create.
McNulty 5 Lots of running around reminded me of his performances early in the season. Lucky assist as his shot was going now a wide.
JCH 5 Other than score the goal was poor. Surely though we are better playing the ball on the floor to him or in the channels he didn't win the ball in the air.
Robins 5 result saved him. The game was awful, no game plan got a lucky goal from a miss hit shop.

Why would you feel sorry for someone losing their place when they’ve shown they are incapable of delivering out of interest?

You could not have gone to the game with those ratings.

Because he was just starting to show that he could deliver and was growing in confidence.

Deliver what?

Burge 7 - one top drawer save and was on game today. The usual questionable distribution
Grimmer 5.5 wasn’t his usual self today, still unfit?
Hyam 6 fairly sound and kept busy
McDonald 6 as above
Haynes 6 yep usual Haynes performance
Bayliss 5 not for the want of trying but doesn’t have the attributes of a winger
Kelly 6 solid DM performance like Doyle but we don’t need two of em at home!
Doyle 6 A’s above
Reid 6 good energy but not many decent balls going into the box
McNulty 6 picking up scraps again due to lack of service, should have scored in the first half
Clarke-Harris 6 not in the game bar the goal

Robins 6 it’s a win but would have liked us to have gotten a goal earlier in the first half and take the game to them, we didn’t do this today and can see a carbon copy performance against Luton which probably won’t work

Burge - Saves 8 - Distribution 3
Defence 4 - Nothing really to do but they still let them have loads of shots. All over the place most the time no structure.
Midfield 4 - Offer nothing and passing was terrible. Reid 7 for effort. Bayliss was on empty for last 20 minutes and not replaced.
Attack 5 - Fed absolutely nothing but offered nothing when they got it. Great ball for the goal but why celebrate it like a golden goal and get a yellow card?

Overall the players didn't seem to know their job. Going for the same ball and leaving loads of spaces for their players all over the pitch.
Barnet were poor and we made them look a good side.
Abysmal viewing for fans. Only good thing about the game was the result.
Hanging in their at the moment but things need to improve.

Good one. He’d scored 2 good goals not long before Clarke-Harris came in, therefore was starting to show he could deliver goals.

So you think he’s a goal threat in this league? He hasn’t scored in his last 7 appearances - Clarke Harris is already level with him

Embarrassing.

I have to say, I can’t really argue with that (not the embarrassing bit JWC). I like Biamou but i think JCH is what we’ve been missing. I didn’t go up today but the game didn’t sound too different to the away fixture. The only difference being we had someone who can score.

I said he was growing in confidence and was beginning to score goals. It seems a shame for him to have lost his place as he was finding his feet, and beginning to deliver.

He’s come off the bench for most of the last 7 games so hardly fair to judge him on that.

Edit: Just realised you were probably talking about mcnulty.

I agree, JCH has been a great addition and deserves to start. Just a shame for Biamou and his obvious development into a better player. Just as his improvement was showing results, someone comes in and takes his place.

When he has come on recently he’s looked decent and added positivity to the team. Good on him.

I guess there will be a queue of clubs after his signature in the summer given his obvious qualities

I saw Barrett after the game and said he played well to him but then he heard me saying how fat he was to my mates so gave me daggers. He was looking like a snooker player with a waistcoat on for some reason.
