I think given that I hope by the weekend, Josh and a.n. other may be with us to strengthen the team, added to Stoke's current poor vein of form ... McNulty now having found some consistency ... we have a good chance, especially as we are at home ... going with 2 v 1 to Cov.

Predicting a win against a team 3 steps above us is brave, however poor they've been recently. The gulf in class is huge.

I'm not that bothered about this, don't expect to get anything out of it but don't want any more injuries.

Obviously would love a win if it happens, but would be happy coming out with no injuries.

Would be interesting to see what team Stoke put out. Anything shy of their full team I think there's a chance for city, it is after all the FA cup. 1-0 City with the upset of the weekend. #PUSB

Stoke 4-0, but hopefully a good experience for our youngsters.

Hoping the city fans turn up for this, first time we've played Premier League opposition at the Ricoh since Blackburn all those years back? With 3000 Stoke fans it's also the first sizeable away following we've had for an awful long time.

The players deserve a big day and a big crowd, especially the young Cov lads who will never have played opposition like this.

There is likely to be an upset somewhere so why not at the Ricoh. Yes the chances are slim but with stoke’s current form there is pressure on Hughes and his team. They are on a hiding to nothing. CCFC have nothing to lose and may pinch a win. A narrow defeat would be seen as a reasonable result. My only fear is that we may pick up more injuries in a competition we cannot win and this could scupper our league position.

Praying for a Biamou goal in this one, would take anything other than a draw or a 3+ goal spanking!

The biggest upset in our history.

How often do you see League 2 sides beating Premier League teams?

Really? More than going to Old Trafford and winning?

I get your point about the leagues and from that point of view, then certainly. But we're 3rd in league two and performing relatively well. They're massively poor at the moment....whilst league status says it would be a shock, current form says it wouldn't that much of a shock. I'd imagine some pundits would likely see us as victors.

The thing is, there is still going to be a massive gulf in class between the players even if we play against their 2nd string. :(

I had a dream last night that the game was called off after a riot on the pitch that happened because a Stoke player punched a 7 year old boy in the crowd. Also people not normally there were telling me to sit down and someone was sick.

Definitely. The divide is 10x bigger.

Club has announced 8500 have been sold.

What they haven't said is that just 5500 of those are Coventry fans.

I'm sorry, but that is terrible from us. We'd have sold more had it been away.

If it was away for the same price nobody would have had an issue and loads would have sold.

I am going to pay on the gate as I think I have left it too late too have them delivered and can't be arsed collecting before the game.

Not sure that it is that bad. It is likely we will have sold as many as for the New Years Day game (of which a load were season ticket holders). Stoke are not a big draw for anybody who can't be arsed to turn up to support us for regular matches. So if we sell anything above 7,000 home tickets I think that is a decent turn out. I will go(haven't got a ticket yet) , though I will happily take losing the game if we can avoid any injuries. If we win without any injuries and pocket a load of extra funds (and buy a player with it!) I'll be even happier.

It really is bad I'm afraid.

I totally understand the frustration at the ticket prices and have always understood the low crowds we get these days, but to sell 5000 against a Premier League side who are bringing 3000 is truly embarrassing.

A lot of people saying Stoke aren't a big draw, but they could sell as many as we do!

12 years ago, yeah it was 28k which is still the 3rd or 4th biggest home gate behind Crewe, Gillingham and maybe Chelsea (as in the number of Cov fans in the Ricoh), Middlesbrough only brought about 1500 I'd say.

Was a good gream. 1-1 stern john iirc. They beat us in replay

Best big attedence game i can remember wt ricoh was when we best wolves 2-1 and westwood saved a pen in last minute. Thibk that was around 25k

I hope saturday makes a lot of people regret not going!

I think to sell 5500 home tickets at that price at this time of the year is fantastic still 3/4 days to go.

Considering we didnt even get 2000 home fans for previous rounds at half the price.

I still think we will get our biggest gate of the season.
4k Stoke and possibly 8k cov fans which will make for tremendous atmosphere.
