So today he dropped his deer in the headlights act from years ago? Eccles just looked like Eccles to me today i.e. he was great
Just to give a bit more context it was the start of last season I thought he was struggling with a bit of self belief I thought it could go two ways. The Jordan Shipley route where he hides in games and eventually gets sold off or the route he's taken. Obviously the team at the start of last year wasn't the best time to judge but I couldn't be more happy with his progress.

*Add to this, Boro were shite.
Definitely, think they might need to start worrying if they don’t get decent money for Akpom to reinvest, they looked absolutely toothless today and the disconnect between their defence and attack was massive. Really shows how important their loanees were last season, makes me glad we’re buying the core of our team these days.

Just looked and Steffen, Archer, Mowatt, Giles and Ramsay were all loanees. Not easy to replace, definitely not buying a group of that quality.

I actually thought Simms did alright, but Wright looks like the real deal. Great finish as well. Godden looks like a new player, great interchanges in the box with Simms and Wright. I think the Godden-Vik fallout maybe wasn’t just rumours. Palmer took 15-20 mins to get going but then began weaving his magic. Such a classy player. That flick in the 2nd half was world class. I think we definitely need a 1st. choice left footed centre back, and I am sure there willl be a box to box CM coming in imminently.

That's fair enough, I wasn't having a go :)

I tell you what I am excited about adding even more quality. The depth is coming in to the squad and the players we have brought will improve, the sky commentary was very complimentary about our transfer business to date.

He worked the space for himself really well too, after that you just need a bit of luck for it to fall for you. A clean confident strike with his left foot as well.
He lost his man very well the strike was in to the ground which I'm not sure he was going for but far better than skying it over the bar. Pleased with what I have seen so far but not sure he's fully fit yet.

Eccles was class today, Palmer too. Some really good performances from many more. Well done Matty, still dangerous at this level.

wyken on the naze
Currently watching the game back on telly, who is this Van Egg White the commentators keep mentioning.
Great result today, we controlled possession in the first half but looked shaky for the first 20 minutes in the second, the subs swung the game back our way which is great to see as it's been an issue for a while having subs who can impact the game

Just got back - it went our way , they had two very good chances that they blew without akpom - Eccles did and good job with Sheaf - thought we were weak only on the left side with Lati and Jay - they struggled to get the ball through the press - needs a few more matches to get them teamed up - like the look of Wright , Godden got a free ride everywhere without Vik - Simms will get there - very happy !

Loved the way he pulled back from the defender, made some space for himself and BANG! Back of the net!

Brilliant win and much needed. Deflated back to excited. A couple of good signings and we can progress

Bottom line; we will be fun to watch this season, and we have a way of playing which is nothing like last season. It's a plan for the squad, not Vik.

Huge signs of progress in just two games. Robins building his first Championship quality squad, not one carried by a few better players and loans.

We could easily be sat here on 6 points too had we been a bit more clinical at leicester
or 0 points had Middlesbrough been slightly clinical.

The future looks bright the future is Sky Blue. After watching this today I’m feeling confident. A little rusty but that’s to be expected so early on. When these players gel I think we will be hard to beat . Onwards and upwards #PUSB

Or 3 points if we had been more clinical at Leicester, and Middlesbrough had been more clinical
