You missed the most important match Carlisle away in 2017

Kastaneer sent off for that ludicrous slide tackle, to leave us with 9 men (Dabo previously sent off), and 3-1 down.
Remarkable comeback with a Matty Godden penalty and Michael Rose equaliser in the 86th minute.

Match #10 was unbelievable, still one of the best matches in my life that I’ve been at.

In terms of its importance (also a splendid football match, tbf), then probably Notts County second leg. Imagine if their 'equaliser' had been given. On such moments are futures made.

Maybe the first sign that season that we were going to be somewhere in the autos! Would love to know that last before City performed like that with 9 men!

It was almost like getting drunk for the first time in a Coventry sense. Being in the play offs, being competitive and actually performing when it mattered! All firsts since I supported Cov in 98.

That's mine as well. That was the moment I realised the team really did have true grit. It's the game I think of every time we go behind - it doesn't matter how much the odds are stacked against us, sometimes magic really can happen.

And of course, the never-ending slide gif has given years of enjoyment.

Me too - that was the point that we got this title winning season back on track and on a way that felt improbable at the time. If only we could have that version of Haji every week (or even once a month 🤪)

next year won't be easy, but we are in much better shape to make a real stab at it.

in recent history - beating boro in feb was massive, and seemed to relaunch us as a force to be reckoned with.

For me it’s both recent trips to Wembley. But there are so many. Middlesbrough games, Wolves, Sunderland and Leicester games, Any game where we win after 90 mins. QPR 7-1 For the sheer history of that day, the scoreline helped.

QPR was when this club was truly back. What’s amazing is if just that game with getting the stadium back had happened this season, I would have been happy.

Yep. I suddenly turned into Michal J Fox. Crazy moments of celebration then prolonged suspense. Splat.
 
Match 50 for me as well. It put us back on track to finish top after our dodgy spell and also seems to have triggered Middlesbrough’s poor run. Not that I have anything against ‘Boro and I’d rather they or Millwall come up than one of the parachute teams or Wrexham.

V easy to forget how much momentum was with Boro before that match. They seemed unstoppable. Incredible turnaround.

Some recovery, shame Hibs couldn't do the same yesterday,but why should they do a favour for the others.

That Bristol City game, I remember bumping into an old mate I hadn’t seen for years. He exclaimed that the atmosphere in the ground was the best it had ever been and wasn’t it great the attendances were so high again…think there was about 18,000 there that day! Just shows you how far we’ve come in 5 years!

think we were just so conditioned to failure at the time that being outside playoffs in new year felt like it could only lead to an inevitable plunge down the league again.

We weren’t. I looked it up. That win moved us into the top 5 haha

I think you could make a case that that was the day we started to believe we could be a premier league team, and that if we had lost that game we would not now be one.
 
Luton Wembley. The momentum and togetherness of that team was off the charts - very similar to this team but the momentum and surge was late and unexpected. I've never celebrated a goal like Hamer's before or since - and my first game was in 1980. We didn't win but the pride was off the charts.
 
Not my favourite match, but that Mansfield 1-1 Coventry (2018) game in League 2 was huge.

We went down to 10 men followed quickly by going 1-0 down. Doyle being injured but carrying on. Getting a late penalty and drawing 1-1.

We would have dropped down to 11th without that point and 7 points off the play-offs.

That result gave us all the belief. All of the other great moments that have happened since might not have happened if we lost that day.
 
On the day of the Wolves FA Cup game I had to do a Speed Awareness Course, which tempered my enthusiasm slightly. It literally finished bang on KO time!

I’ll never tire of watching the highlights. It seems to be all of my favourite games are 3-2 wins. Great commentary too.

And most of that team are still playing for us.

 
Lots of great games some already mentioned but the 2-1 away win come back away at Charlton 2018 stands out for me just felt we could turn a game round in the last 5 mins which i never felt we would do and singing 20 goal bakayoko on the way home
