Sargent’s got a lot to do now. Hasn’t scored for the yanks for ages.
He will still be given an opportunity I believe, but I concur. Haji will make the squad if he stays consistent. Pepi is hurt but will be a factor as well, same for Agyemang and Balogun.

Haji can in essence play on the wing too if needed, so that also helps.

Regardless, feels good to have this striking force as a USA fan. Haven't had this kind of quality striking crew since the Clint Dempsey days.

Everything looks easy for a keeper - in slow motion!

Look again. The shot is neither high or in the corner, the shit keeper has almost sat himself down for some reason. If he’s stood a maximum of one foot to his right and actually dives, he saves it.

If Rushworth did the same flop as Ryan, he’d rightly be criticised. Chuffed he scored but the typical romanticism over an alright goal. I’ve never known people so offended by a comment about poor goalkeeping, especially an opponent keeper. It’s so strange. It’s not an unstoppable world class goal - again, this doesn’t discount it. But the original point was that the keeper really should’ve done better, and weirdly people are up in arms like I’ve called Haji Wright shit.

Proper shit goalkeeping and the usual suspects are in floods of tears. Excellent.
You seem to be the one who is upset as everyone doesn't agree with you.

Still move "move 2 inches and stick his arm out" is top level stiff :)

The keeper wasn't set. He had just back pedalled 6 yards to get himself into some kind of position as the defence was caught out by the quick free kick. He was beaten by the shot, which Haji hit early and very well. I think I know what I saw.

Fine, but it’s clear he didn’t even anticipate the shot. That’s a shit keeper. He’s done back pedalling well before Wright turns to shoot.

Even the TV crew missed the first part as the free kick was taken so quickly. Trying to downplay Haji's goal is a bit odd.

About 2 seconds in real time, not much more. The keeper isn't shit, he has 100 caps over 13 years and is the Aussie captain.

It’s a simple typo for shit keeping. You’d be satisfied if Rushworth missed that in the very same setting?

I mean it’s obviously about the keeper being poor. Another one 🤦‍♂️

Forget it. Didn’t mean to hurt feelings. Shit keeping from Ryan.

Ooh, edgy. “Flex” 😂

People on here are ridiculously obtuse.

You are the one that is being the edge lord and reacting badly when people point out you are just wrong. No feeling hurt apart from yours it seems.

Shit posting from Tommo1993 ;)

Not half as bad as the shit keeping. But I suppose that same shot would beat a prime Buffon as well?

If you want proper shit posting I’ll join in with all the bin fire political threads.

It was the defending that was lax, with quickly taken free kick. The bend on Haji's shot woukd have beat vast majority of keepers.

One of our players, arguably the in-form striker of our division, has scored twice on the international stage and we're arguing about whether not it counts because the goalkeeper might have done better. Am I understanding this thread correctly?
It's termed...

International break idleness.

No. See post #1165.

I dont know why people are arguing over it, for me it was a really good goal and another 2 scored to add to the tally for the season for Haji, keeps the momentum going.

It was quick thinking pass From the US midfielder to Haji who turned Burgess (who plays for Swansea and was at Ipswich before) and put it past Ryan (who was on the books of Real Sociedad, Brighton, Arsenal, AZ Alkmaar and plays for Levante UD) so he's not that shite.

We should just be happy that Haji got two goals for his country and that he's got that motivation to do well for his club so he makes the US squad for the world Cup, a fully fit and focused Haji is good news for us and bad news for the rest of the league

This is exactly how I see it. The defender is at fault and should always show Haji down the line where it has to be some effort to score going across the keeper and he was positioned for that. When Haji chops inside and the defender is sat on his backside, he hasn't the time to readjust and get over. The only criticism is he arguably could have been less committed, but from where he is he doesn't save the shot despite not being in the corner.

Has nobody ever seen a goal back and thought the keeper was pretty poor about it? Again for the thousandth time, this isn’t to slag off the scorer - everyone will ignore this part though.

In which you quickly say "chuffed he scored" but spend the rest of the post talking about the GK?

This just feels like a really bloody odd hill to die on.

Missed the part where I said this isn’t to discredit Wright?

I get it now. People are purposely and selectively skirting round particular parts to force their ignorance.

You're actively replying to the criticism posts though and ignoring the ones like mine where I've explained why your thinking is flawed and nothing to do with it being the quality of Haji's strike. With such a victim mentality are you sure you don't really support Liverpool?
