This is why I don't slag players off on here.

For some reason if you put this bit in a Donald Trump voice you could see him saying it

“This guy has.

No strength.
No first touch.
Cant hold the ball up.
Cant head the ball.
Cant stay on side.
Missed a sitter...so cant score.
His technique is very bad.
He actually doesnt know what he wants to do with the ball.”

Has nobody ever seen a goal back and thought the keeper was pretty poor about it? Again for the thousandth time, this isn’t to slag off the scorer - everyone will ignore this part though.
What could the keeper do?

They were both great finishes and that second goal is the best goal he’s scored this season not that it matters as a goal is a goal they all count for the same, he has a class ability to really whip a shot and curl it the second for the US and the winner against Wolves pop into mind
I was actually more impressed by the first,to actually take it in and toe poke on the outside of his boot into the corner rather than across the goal was exemplary thinking for me!

Tommo this is the biggest load of nonsense since you said we should upgrade on Torp at the start of the year

Whether I look back on it and wonder what I was on about or not. Everyone has had a moment, I certainly wouldn’t be alone on that one. And Torp has improved, as he really needed to.

2 great finishes, but the first was definitely the best for my money, it gave the keeper no time to adjust himself.

I'd be very suprised if Wright can get back and recover enough to play 3 games in 8 days, so we will have to rely on Simms at some stage, hopefully he takes his chance and his 2 recent goals give him confidence.

Has Whittaker still not scored a league goal for Boro? He massively overperformed his xG for Plymouth
Always be sceptical of teams/players that overperform xG and so on. Look at Manning at Norwich, now starting to perform close to the ‘underlying data’ whereas last season he was an over performer. There will be some players/teams that will tend to over perform (e.g. long range specialists) but as a rule of thumbs, players/teams generally sit around where the data points too. Simms + Wright in particular underperformed last season and have started the season ‘on track’ statistically.

This season we’re actually performing in line with ‘the data’. The xG table suggested we should’ve been fighting for automatics last season.

Except something was wrong for a significant portion of the season, now seems to rectified.

Undoubtedly, Lampard has made some tactical tweaks that’s had an impact. We haven’t conceded a goal from open play this season - they‘ve all been set pieces. Compare that to last season…

Even despite the end to last season, from Xmas we were the 3rd best team in the division so there were strong indications we have a Top 4 team capable of competing for automatics.

Personally, I think the squad depth will catch up to us so my hope is that we’re proactive in January to sign 2-3 players.

Hate to be pedantic but we have, vs Norwich.

Agree if he plays. I think it will be player's choice and I guess he'll want to start so that should seal it, but depends when (today presumably) he lands back in the UK, rest and recovery then some light training tomorrow. Probably can't really answer it until Saturday morning.

A few weeks ago that would have scared the hell out of me, but with BTA in form, Ellis coming off the bench to score a couple of goals, then if he does have to be benched and come on late, I think I'd be less concerned now.
Will Haji be jet lagged? Think that is a more important than the rest, although I think the Sleep Coach will be all over this.
Robins would sometimes rest players, apart from Lati who always played after international breaks.

A Birmingham fan on twitter is still insisting that kyogo is better and he’d rather have him. The thick twat got salty when I pointed out Wright has scored as many as their entire team
When you spend so much money to be so mediocre, you need a lot of copium. They’ve spent at least £25m on strikers (just Kyogo and Stansfield) and those two will struggle to get 20 goals between them. My view has always been that it’ll go tits up at Blues and the backlash will be nasty.

I caught up with a Bluenose colleague today to gloat about our win and was rather disappointed at how deluded he was. He insisted that a) it was a harsh red card and b) the game was even up until the red card. That is actual nonsense, we actually looked a class above them for the entirety of the match.

I’m liking that Wrexham and Blues are finding out the hard way that this league isn’t a cakewalk.
