Let's not all get it twisted. Haji Has tested everyone during his time here. Yes he's blossoming now long may it continue. His talent has never been in question. He's now matching it it with work rate.

“I genuinely think Simms will be fine. Hes hardly played any mins. I actually gave faith in Simms and think hes the real deal. When he scores 1 he will be on a roll.
Simms looks more of a footballer than Wright.
Wright is just massive gamble which is looking like a complete and utter waste of Gyokores money.”

“Wright wouldnt score 20 in league 1 mate. Hes got no consistency to his game. He doesnt know what his bread n butter is.”

“Big issue is when it's not working for you or the team you have to put yourself about do the basic minimum. At least let the defenders know your there! He offered nothing. His shooting whilst leaning back is awfull something a school kid wouldn't do.

I'm struggling to see the positives. When honestly I have searched for them long and hard.”

“Great work from Dean Austin. Haji Wright bargain of the season. defenses around the championship shitting themselves about our record signing.
He wouldn't look put of place in league 2.”

“I wish they did call me before they spunked £12M. On Kitching and Wright.
Would have saved the club £10M. In money they will never get back.”

“Simms has so much more to his game than Wright and is light years ahead of him in every department.
No comparison between Simms and Wright. Simms has single handedly changed games this season.
Huddersfield at home his shot that won us that game from crossbar.
Simms was excellent vs QPR and again again when he come on as Sub at Preston.
Wright is only playing as hes our record marquee signing, and Robin's is clearly trying to polish a turd every week.”

“Simpleton fans think scoring two tap ins that even he couldnt miss, paves over the shocking display over 98 mins.
Simms did more offensively in 20 mins than haji has in many many games.”

“This guy has.

No strength.
No first touch.
Cant hold the ball up.
Cant head the ball.
Cant stay on side.
Missed a sitter...so cant score.
His technique is very bad.
He actually doesnt know what he wants to do with the ball.”

Some short memories here. I think Wright is in the form of his life and deserves all the plaudits but Gyokeres was special and we were lucky to have him.

Whilst I also appreciate it's only one goal against poor opposition and that he's scored many more since, the goal he scored against Wigan was top drawer. There aren't many who have the physique, power, pace, knowhow and finishing ability that he demonstrated there. One of my favourite ever City goals and for that last season we had him, he was immense.
in the form of his life? he’s been our top scorer two seasons in a row and hit 20 the season before last

If he carries on this form I will forgive him that header that he put so wide its untrue in the last minute against Sunderland in the second play off semi
Show's if he had been fit and in the same form we would have won both of those legs. Saying that the whole team looks so much better than last season.

yet you called him a "soft twat" ;)

At the time. A little unfair maybe but he was dire in those two matches. Stood out like a sore thumb in the second game.

I wouldn't say it to his face though 👀

I think I did once describe him as having the presence of Alan Titchmarsh but even after a few games you could see he was a capable footballer but there were doubts he could adjust to this type of division.

Coming from the Turkish League the fee was a bit of a rope round his neck but he now is probably the most feared forward in the League.

Every team in the league would love him to be their forward

The biggest damning indictment was that as shocking as Wright was (and that miss on 90 minutes away was dreadful), we didn't hear about that injury until this season and yet he was still preferred to Ellis who didn't play a minute in either leg or extra-time. I' still believe Lampard wanted him out in the summer, but nobody was prepared to pay what we wanted. Hopefully can free that space and have some real competition if we're still up there in January.

*edit - just to clarify I'm on about Ellis here not Haji :)

It's funny how you think you are the only one who can search previous posts. You were far from complimentary of Wright so as per it's a bit rich coming from you.

The problem is we have no idea what was going on with Haji at that time. It seems like FL shouldn't have played him due to him being unfit to play?? we just don't know, but if that was the case it wasn't Haji's fault. What we do know is, a few weeks earlier he looked the complete footballer against the same team.

He couldn't stand him. If you can find comparable posts describing him as a turd and someone who we should just give away then feel free.

Its also somewhat amusing that you suggest I stalk you. I knew you'd be along - I admire the attempt to compete with Grendel and its kind of cute you feel you can,

I think the form Wright looked like he was in at the end of last season or when he first arrived and took time to settle as a big money signing, lots were rightly concerned. Admittedly looks like London went a bit ott. but anyone who initially thought it was going well was more out of blind optimism.

However, I think we've all seen enough now to know he genuinely has quality and even if he has another barren spell, I think he'd be forgiven a lot more with the credit he's built in the bank. He will need it as there have been games in the past when not scoring that he looks like a passenger. Recently he's worked back and fans have loved it, so hopefully that's here to stay and perhaps something Lampard has been working on with him as I think fans will give players time as long as they can see effort.

let me guess you were one of his detractors

think he’s got more about his all round game than Vik did personally.
He’s a much better all round player than vik
Not a effective but let’s wait
Wright is nowhere near Gyokeres...

22/23 Gyokeres was basically our only outlet up front, scored 21 + 10 assists playing in a worse team and while playing basically every minute in the league.

Wright would score as many goals as gyokeres has in this arsenal team

Not especially, I think I was quite measured, but I can't recall tbh. I certainly think I questioned the fee but equally I thought Simms was the better of the two at the time and that was clearly wrong. I'm generally pretty fair with all our players if anything too much so (apart from Brad Collins who i was pretty unfair all round to).

Yeah, I am being critical of Haji but he shouldn't have played the full 90 in those games. Simms should have come on. We were throwing crosses into the box. He stood out when others were running through brick walls.

Also that goal was scored right at the end of the game yet he still had the energy and strength to go on that run and finish. There isn’t a defender in the league who enjoyed playing against him-in fact you could sometimes see them shitting themselves.

Wright is a different sort of player, the comparison is probably unfair.

Wright has always been good imo, apart from tail end of last season where he was supposedly injured of course. He's a different beast this season under Lampard though, gone up a level. However that level is still short of Viks level, i think some might be forgetting what a beast we had on our hands there. Wright plays in a much better team than Vik did, Vik had to do a lot more work.

I mean Vik is the best player I’ve seen at the club since 2001, not even the Kebab King beats him there. He was that good-which is why I say comparing Wright with him isn’t fair.

He does score the kinds of goals that Vik didn’t here though.

He can score headers for a start
