Too negative. And it would stifle the outspoken comments - which enlivens the forum in my opinion (like it or not!)

What we need is a 'reactions' button like Facebook just implemented (have to call it something different in case of lawsuits). Suggested reactions "Wow", "Well I never", "That's the best post I have ever seen", "After reading that, I threw up", "Not in a million years", "Splunge" (For Monty Python fans).

It's kind of annoying that someone is allowed to 'dredge up' an old thread by posting a single message to it. I'd like to see it have to be two posts by different people.
