What kinda stuff is it? Not heard of 'em before.

Really? They were ace, they really were. You've heard of the Fab Four from Liverpool? Well, that was The Pale Fountains!

Two albums, Pacific Street [1983] and ...from across the kitchen table [1985]

First album was acoustic and the second more guitar based.

From the second album:

Saw them a few times. They split and then became Shack, which is a whole different story.

AbergeleNext Time from the first album, which gives you an idea how different the albums are:

And finally a bit of Shack from 1990.

Search for Shack and Waterpistol and go down the rabbit hole!

so the Glastonbury thread showed there's some punx about, so I got bored and made a loud noisy playlist.

• it should work played front to back
• bias towards bands that played my gigs
• a few local bands from the mid 2000s

Nothing on there from before 1999 and a fair bit of current stuff in there to avoid it being total nostalgia.

This is the best possible way for me to find out that my mate’s old band (WPW) are on Spotify!

First time I've found them on there. Have their stuff on bandcamp. Nice bonus of putting this together. I played with them in Leeds once but never managed to get them on a gig in Cov. Had them booked to play with Itch at the Golden Cross but they had to cancel. Hope they're all good. Joe did so much for the DIY scene - wonder if that venue he helped run is still going? (JT Soar) or if he's still doing mastering.
