There's a gorgeous Polish woman on my round, and I have a laugh/banter with her. I thought she was single with a little girl and as she's in her 40's I was thinking I wonder if I should ask her out ? I was cleaning her windows recently when a huge bloke came out and said hello in a Polish accent.Ha ha! You got that about right, BBR! My poor wee dog kept leaping up from his sleep every time Ireland had the ball! I was shrieking at the top of my voice! My missus just sat there saying to the dog, "It's alright. Ireland are winning. Daddy will be fine soon!" She's Polish/Lithuanian and just doesn't get the passion! :emoji_smile:

It was her husband and he's a doorman. Good job I never took her out for a drink ! But these Polish women are attractive, but this one is a teaser !

I hadn't listened to it for over 20 years as I only had it on vinyl but since my wife bought me a record player I have been going through my vinyl albums. I was never really taken with Animals but have listened to it about 3-4 times. I have listened to Meddle twice but it's staying on a bit longer, not sure when I'll put Relics on or if I'll put Ummagumma on though.That was the album that got me hooked on Floyd! Superb!
Just in from the match. Load of kids were throwing stones at flat next door. I went out they gobbed off and ran off. This is Bell Green life !BBR, if you have a PC and headphones like me, have a listen to these stations. There is NO talking! Just pure oldies! Non-stop, 24 hours. They are really good and the sound quality is superb. They play stuff I'd forgotten about and stuff I've not heard before. Really good listening. I think they are either US based or Australia?

Dusty Springfield was a superb singer and performer.Been listening to some 60's music lately. It was not just about the Stones and Beatles, bands like the Searchers,Troggs,Dave Clark Five, Easybeats, Manfred Mann, they produced good pop/rock songs too.
And never listened much to her at the time but Dusty Springfield had an awesome voice.

There used to be a guy called Mike Shanaghan who did a good cover of this at the folk clubs around Coventry.
That's a great little anecdote. Also rather sad when it was the drink and drugs that eventually killed him off.Yeah John Martyn was fantastic. Saw him half dozen times when I was at uni in late 70s. Always when he finished his gig he went to nearest bar and continued singing as long as students kept buying him drinks...until he and his guitar slumped over in the early hours.

John Shanahan was the guy who did a very good version of "May You Never". Dave Bennett was brilliant at ragtime guitar.

If you Google 'Pete Willow Coventry', he pops up. He is on Facebook and it says he is retired. Could not find much more about him, but then I didn't look very hard.A little off topic but me and my work mate used to clean windows down by the Bulls Head pub in Binley.
We cleaned a row of big houses opposite the pub and one chap who was always writing as we cleaned his windows came out with some tea and was a friendly type. We asked him if he was an author ? He told us he was a music writer specialising in the folk scene etc.
His name was Pete Willow and wrote a column in the Telegraph I recall ? Think he's since passed away ?

Another charity shop visit the other day. A various collection, but one was a compilation of singers. I never knew just like Dusty Springfield that Cher did Rock type songs, she is better than I thought !Dusty Springfield was a superb singer and performer.
Breast cancer got her at only 59.
