Another fairly quick turnaround after Monday where we gave a good account of ourselves but ultimately Premier League quality won out. Hopefully the same won't be said of WBA who appear to be in turmoil - seen a fair few of their fans saying they're not bothering with the rest of the season and apparently there was some fighting amongst their own fans in the stands last week. If we get the first goal it could turn pretty toxic.

Can see Fadz coming in for Bidwell, other than that probably the same team (unless he wants to go 2 up top and bring Waghorn in for Allen)

Moore
Rose Fadz Hyam
Kane Hamer Sheaf Maatsen
O'Hare Allen
Gyokeres

Subs: Wilson, Bidwell, Kelly, Howley, Jones, Waghorn, Tavares
I'll go for 1-1, Hamer from outside the box

Can’t see how we don’t win and surely Hamer will score from a corner. Best delivery in the division I would guess

Agree with that team and quite fancy us to get 3 points.

What a disaster Steve Bruce has been.

Can't see them playing the same high press game they had under Ismael when they beat us at home.

Am very confident going into this one. 3-1 City O'Hare and Gyokores x2.

As already said they have a huge disparity home and away - only 3 teams have more points then them at home and two of them have played one more game

Away they sit 19th in the table

Yep.... they have, as a squad, dramatically underperformed!
They have a decent squad, and as Grendel quite rightly points out.... are very good at home!
If we go one down, as we tend to do... can't see any points from this one.

Much more tricky than a lot of people are thinking!

Our home form has crocked us really. We won the first 6 and have only won 4 since

1-1 play off dreams over means for a more relaxed end of season, with just trying to finish as high as possible without pressure. Build for next season. Very very happy with this season!

It would be nice to not concede first just for a change.
Said previously, concede first in this one and it will go the same way as the Bournemouth game.
This will be harder than most think, 3rd best home team in the division and play style of football that we don't like to play against.

We must be near having done it 30 times this season. Makes each game harder than it already is.

27 by my count though may well have missed a few

28 league matches I make it. Slow day at work so run some stats on it:

When scoring first (15 games) we’ve taken 34 points.

When we score first we’ve won 10 of the 15 games.

When not scoring first (28 games) we’ve taken 28 points.

When not scoring first we’ve won 7 of the 28 games.

It’s quite stark actually - even though we’re a highly resilient team we need to take our early chances.

Think those numbers roughly match up to the general win rate after taking and conceding the lead first

It's 26, we had 2 x 0-0's (back to back vs Sheff Utd & Birmingham) the rest of your math looks sound 👍🏻

Apologies, had worked to “games we didn’t score first” rather than “games where we conceded first”.

Could anyone recommend somewhere to park near the Hawthornes please? Will be there early around 10/11 so a bit of a walk isn't an issue.

TIA.
