Tories aren’t a democratic institution. I’d definitely join if it wouldn’t get me kicked out of my current party. Why not? They’re in power.

What’s your moral issue with a group representing Coventry fans exactly?

That they don’t represent Coventry fans? You’re on here enough to know there are lots of people with differing opinions that say they don’t represent them. People have tried engaging but are just told to join the board, it’s pathetic.

If you want to change the direction of a democratic group you need to build a majority within that group. This is not rocket science.

The trust should be asking the membership though surely? About what direction to go in? Unless you’re acknowledging they only have one purpose and that was decided by the board as members weren’t consulted?

Maybe the trust has alienated so many people. No one thinks the trust is worth saving ?

The fact the only way to sign up is to post a cheque with a paper form shows thee need to move forward to even attract members.

They do. The board is elected. That’s asking the members. If you want a different board you join, stand as a board member and convince enough people to elect you.

How many trust members voted for the current board? How many were given the opportunity to vote for board members?

Was there an online process? Email? Or was it just at the Albany on a Monday night?

How hard is it to grasp? They listen to no one but themselves! They ask for ideas and then ignore them all.

But what is the point in getting involved, we know they don't listen to us fans because of CJ's responses on here with regards to them holding wasps accountable

No idea. I think you have to go to the AGM. Which brings us back to the question of why Monday at the Albany is particularly hard for people to get to.

I mean more than happy to go - however being that I work in Birmingham until 6 one weekdays means that getting the Albany at the same time on Mondays is a bit difficult.

Do you think CJ was born into the board? Like The Queen?

Or did he perhaps turn up, get involved, get elected?

Jesus you really are dim.

Brings us back to the question why can’t they use an online voting system? Particularly when they have been offered help to do this. Why do they not want to incorporate more fans and members?

The trust and shmmee need to realise that getting to the Albany isn’t practical for everybody for multiple reasons. Rather than singling those fans out, they should be looking to integrate them. I won’t hold my breath though.

Again. Why are those sympathetic to Wasps (if that’s what you think the issue is) are more likely to live in Coventry?

You’re claiming the timing and location of meetings is why the (apparently) vast majority of reasonable City fans who think like you can’t go.

I’m saying that’s ridiculous.

Then stop whining cos you clearly value your other commitments and opposition to a pub two minutes from the City centre more than changing the direction of the trust.

Make sense? Or should I break out the crayons, you absolute lemon peeler?

“The trust” is a function of its active members. That’s how democratic institutions work. Democracy is won by those that turn up.

Democracy is won by establishing a process that can be seen to be fair, open and available.

The Trust has any number of potential mechanisms to find out the opinions of its members online.

Presumably they've still got our emails from when we signed up, but I can't remember the last time any attempt to make contact with the wider membership was attempted.

Patently it's not open or democratic if the only way to represent one's opinion to the Trust is to attend in person on a set night; that's designed to exclude. Clearly the venue couldn't come close to accomodating everyone the Trust claims to speak for in any case.

If the trust wants to represent itself as a few blokes that can make a Monday night down the pub, that's fine with me. If it wants to claim it's speaking on behalf of a larger number of fans then it should get off its collective arse and engage them,

You asked for my “excuse” I’m pretty sure living and work arrangements would suggest this.

ultimately. The trust have 3000 alleged members. I’d say the majority do not turn up.

there possibly would be more members, however the sign up process/voting methods are antiquated and limiting.

The suggestion of online voting, video of the meetings, and Online sign up are suggestions to bring them into the 21st century and to a wider group...

however I suspect the small voting group suits their agenda
