We've got a team to get us out of this league

Past results and the league table disagrees with you. And we wont have this team next season.

I saw something on Sky last night that we'd signed a 17 year old Irish kid.

Oh yes we are far off. We don't have a reliable keeper, we don't have any attacking midfielders and no prolific strikers. We don't have a designated penalty specialist (we missed the last two pens). We have a team with the maximum number of loanees. And lastly we have a manager who has not settled on a playing formation yet. I still see the main aim for the rest of this season is to avoid relegation. I don't see the play-offs as a realistic hope. I also expect at the end of the season, anyone sellable will be sold, just like the past two seasons.

Read the whole post, I mentioned we didn't have the attacking bang on yet, but as I already said we are solid defensively, 2 of those loans didn't play, 3 are most likely going to sign on. And 1 will probably stay for the rest of the season. A Lot of managers change formation throughout the season? Being stuck to one formation is idiotic. Allsop can be considered reliable.

We need x 2 flair players. Too many steady Eddie's in our squad. We need two players who can run at people with the ball and score from distance.
Basically, we need to replace Moussa and Baker still (FFS!)

Only concern I have at the moment is that we seem to be attempting to retain a few loans whilst expecting others to leave, which means a smaller first team squad in terms of experienced players. So far this season despite the recent run the squad hasn't achieved what it should have so how do we improve it in terms of quality and depth unless there are new players coming in

But it is only very early days in the transfer window so I am not criticising, I am sure they have plans of some kind or another, and probably need to ship some out to free up some room in the budget. Need to see some injection of pace and a decent central creative midfielder (Fleck doesn't do it for me)

Interesting comment by Fleck though yesterday. to paraphrase " the boss doesn't like me to get ahead of the ball when we are playing two defensive midfielders" Think that blunts the midfield effectiveness if you effectively have a back 6 all the time.

Isn't Nouble and Martin classed as "in" ;)

They were already "in" and had a contract with us, albeit a loan deal .

Whilst I am more than happy that they are on board, we have a weaker squad today than we did last week, but Pressley has time to address that.

So why have you put Clarke as an out, if he was already an 'out' before the window opened?

McQuoid and Hines didn't really play did they?

Our squad was restricted by loan rule regulations anyway, half the time two of Nouble, Mcquoid and Hines were left out of the squad as we had Allsop, Pennington, Martin and Madine and its only 5 players your allowed anyway.

He was in our squad and we could recall him we wont be able to now.

How sure are you that there was a recall option in the loan? And he clearly hasn't been in our squad for the last two months because he wasn't been at the club.

Couldn't Martin and Nouble have been recalled then, so they weren't really in then were they? If Clarke is an out then Martin and Nouble are in

didn't he keep Johnson as club captain but drop him a match day captain due to lack of apperances ?

It wasn't just to lack of appearances, it was what Pressley viewed to be a lack of professionalism.

Reda is no longer captain. "I spoke to the manager on Monday and he told me I wasn’t the captain any more." Johnson quote after Worcester and he wasn't injured at that time

Nah not bothered. You were just trying to be clever as usual, making out we're getting rid of a load of players and not signing anyone and I called you out on it and you fell flat on your face with flawed logic.

People have moandc their tits off that our squad is made up of loans over the last few months, we send the crap ones back and try and permanently sign or extend the few who have done well and people act even more upset.

No I wasn't. The facts are we have less players on our books than we did at the start of the transfer window. Is this not correct ?

Also, didn't i say Pressley has plenty of time to put it right ?, how is that being clever ?

Steven Pressley has been given the green light to recruit four or five players as he looks to shuffle his Sky Blues pack in the January transfer window.
