Has anyone noticed that the reform party seem to be mimicking our kit and it's bothersome to me,in fact I'm a bit disgusted.
They have last year's away number and this year's home, I think we should make the Club aware of this!

Being made redundant less than a month before Christmas.

Absolute shit show. Company's being put into administration so is unable to pay this month's wages. Need to wait for the administrator to do their thing before we can claim unpaid wages, statutory redundancy etc. which could take 6 weeks from applying to get paid out. Plus unpaid wages are capped so I won't get the full amount I earned for working away.

Things like my laptop are company issue too so will have to be returned. Raging.

Yes and I applaud those who plan that and pay their taxes ( probably most on here and me ) - it’s the ones who don’t work and exist on benefits being handed another freebie - I would be perfectly fine if the increases were in vouchers for healthy food not just cash that goes on fags , phones , trainers and TVs

What if the kids prefer smoking to carrots?

There was talk of some cashflow issues, but for us staff it went from fine to fucked in about 24 hours. Had a meeting put in our calendars one afternoon for the next morning titled "Important announcement"

Not without relocating down south as it stands. Had a few recruiters get in touch once they heard the news though.

That's good at least, might be worth it to be open to a move?

What line of work are you in? Or would that give too much away. Happy for you to PM me if easier.

That’s really shit, but it’s encouraging you’ve already had people get in touch. Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry to hear that mate. Being made redundant is tough at any point but this time of year seems to make it worse, especially when it comes from out of nowhere.

Hopefully something turns up pretty soon. No idea what industry you work in but sometimes when a big-ish company goes bust you see a competitor step in and take on a good chunk of their work & staff so fingers crossed something like that may turn up.

Smart home automation and AV systems. We do (did) a fair bit of residential but mostly superyachts.

All the leads I've had so far are small companies looking to expand which I'm very wary of but might have to bite the bullet if there's nothing by the new year. One good thing is that I was the only person doing my role so I won't be competing with colleagues for a job.

What? It's possible for people to work and have more than 2 children.
Bloke who was digging holes and connecting gas for Cadent at my house last week said he had 5 kids.
Looked shagged out mind. I jest he was a calm solid geezer holding down a job.

Redundancy shortly before Christmas is surprisingly common. Happened to me once. My sympathies go out to you, it's rotten.
