People from england that go abroad and eat 'english' food

First time I went away with the mrs all she would eat was chicken nuggets and chips.
Her whole family are like it. Soon sorted that out.

It doesn't annoy me, I pity people like that a bit for having such silly narrow horizons.

Then again, we don't apply the same judgement to foreign people dining in the restaurants of their homelands in this country.

There's definitely some truth in that but a lot of other countries have far better cuisine than we do.

Imagine Spanish people sitting in on a Saturday night and ordering an English takeaway.

Indeed, I did think that when I posted it. A lot of people in this country like bland rubbish tbh, eat anything as long as it's beige

When we went to Fuerteventura there was a Scottish bar that was relatively exotic because you don't get haggis available here outside January. I'd joke about going in and my wife's disgust at the idea made me more serious each day. That we never did is probably the catalyst for our divorce, looking back

I've got to say I don't believe there to be a finer breakfast in the world than the variation of full English / Irish / Scottish / Welsh, as long as the ingredients are good quality

those ads for Harrys Razors that say something like.."and you don't need hundreds of blades - 5 will do"
5?
Why not 1/2 maximum?

Posted this before, but the charity workers in Tescos.

Pop to the Express near my work most days and they've been in there everyday and asked for a couple of minutes of my time.

Just let people come to you, we can clearly see who you are and the cause you're supporting.

Oh by the way, how much is your CEO on a year?

Their CEO may be on loads but if it’s anything like an old housemate used to deal with the chuggers themselves are on commission only pay, more than once he came back from “work” owing the charity money for travel because he hadn’t signed up anyone that day. Such a shitty business model all round.

Is it their nominated charity bit, where three worthy causes get to fight for some scraps off shoppers?

Some of those charity beggars have become really good at mixing in with crowds.

I was stopped by one the other weekend and thought she was chatting me up until she mentioned Africa and taking my bank details.

Completely ruined my day tbf.

No, it's the approaching you when you're clearly not interested. I can see they're there and it's a small lobby, so they're unavoidable.

I just want my roll for my soup mate.

The lack of a nod to Coventry in every form of media.

Just watching The Crown and it's the episode where the Queen and Phillip, they visit the Jag factory in 1956/57 and no mention it is Coventry at all.

That's one of the cruelest tricks the mind can play along with being woken up during a dirty dream.

Have you seen The Hitman's Bodyguard? They mention going to Coventry a fair amount during the opening half an hour and when they turn up it's clearly shot in London. Totally pointless.

You're right! I remember that, literally doesn't even mention Coventry on the film's wiki page.

They had a bit of a renaissance last summer with the yoot.....young ravers in bucket hats & charity shop hoodies trying to re-create the acid house scene of my youth....

This is a good tune tho....
