Really the thing to blame is the work culture here. Teaching was terrible for it, this idea that if you weren’t literally dead then you should be in, just ends up infecting everyone.

It’s the same at my current place where we only get SSP, means everyone forces themselves in. So counter productive.

What is SSP these days as a general rule of thumb?

I met an American girl at a club a few years ago. Kissed her and swapped numbers etc, thought she was great. Then she called me the next day and I realised what an annoying fucker she was.

European girls are far less high maintenance I've found.

Can agree here. Known an American girl for twenty odd years, dated for a bit. She’s a top girl, but is high maintenance.

Just started dating a Dutch girl, it’s like a revelation. Got mates with Polish and Spanish GFs who say the same thing. Just so much less shit to deal with.

Dunno, I’m too scared to take a day off

Fake edit: checked and it’s just over £90/week but you don’t get it for the first three days. So basically if I take a day off I don’t get paid.

Reason I ask is, my missus has just done her back in. Had to just go and pick her up from work.

I'm currently sick and in work, ive done next to nothing so far and spent most of the day infecting others and hiding, when off, I get my basic rate of pay, but I'm only allowed 3 absences within a 5 year period. Stupid system that penalises the genuinely ill.

Driving down the A45 today and some bellend had his full beams on all the way down,

[QUOTE="Driving down the A45 today and some bellend had his full beams on all the way down,[/QUOTE]

What is it with these cars (generally of French & Spanish manufacture) that put individual fog lights on depending on which way you turn the steering wheel, allegedly so you can see the edge of the road?!!
How did we ever survive without this marvellous piece of technology?
For the record, it's illegal! Lights on the front of a vehicle (other than a motorcycle) are required to be in pairs.

And it's illegal for fog lights to be used when conditions dictate otherwise (i.e. IT'S NOT BLOODY FOGGY!!!)

How are indicators legal then?

I think indicators are possibly exempt, by some quirk of law!

They a similar policy in a place I worked a few years ago. I hurt my neck playing football and every few months it would flare up and It'd be so painful I'd have to slide out of bed because I literally couldn't move my neck. So work was impossible.

It came to my 3rd sickness in a year, I phoned my manager who was a prick and he basically said I was getting sacked when I came back. So I went to the doctor and got a 2 week sickline every fortnight for 6 months. He just kept giving them to me. I got £80 a week, my rent paid for me and my holidays kept accruing so when I eventually quit 6 months later I had around £1000 in extra pay waiting for me.

The moral of the story is, I had the last laugh.

My necks fine now.

Six months of playing xbox and wanking were the perfect rehabilitation.

If they were illegal the cars wouldn't be in country... so your facts are probably wrong?

Is that something to be proud of? Don't know why anyone would boast about taking the piss at work, and not going in?

Another one about shops.

Went into the co-op earlier, nobody to be seen on the tills. They were having a spring clean at the back of the shop, wiping all the fridges down.

This was a shop on a busy road, I could have quite easily have just walked out with a basket full of goodies and they would have had no idea.

To be fair Nick, the other half worked in a Co-Op and they are told to let people walk out with stuff anyway! Told not to confront them in case have have a weapon.

What did the honourable gentleman do wrong? Apart from daring to put his own interests above those of unknown shareholders?

You're a fanny though. Punctuating the end of a sentence with a smiley face on an adult forum also indicates that you're a bit strange.

Light fittings that have those cups on that need to sit flush. How are you meant to get them flush???

Royal Mail who put things in the wheelie bin, are they thick as fuck? It's a bin, it's dirty. Don't put things in there that we need to then take out, bellends.

I was doing some Christmas shopping in Birmingham earlier today, I was in the queue at Game for about 20 minutes without it even moving as they were trying to sell all their add on shit at the tills, there were about 10 people in front of me, so I just gave up in the end.

Another thing, why isn't clothing made for more stocky people, everything is either too tight on the shoulders but fits round the waist, or fits nice on the shoulders but is baggy around the middle. Even slim fit stuff isn't any good. (also looking for recommendations on this front).

Yeah, I struggle for stuff in the shoulders. If I go a size up stuff is too big. I find that Boss stuff is generally alright and Ralph Lauren too.

politicians that say that they have been 'very clear' on an issue. Seems to be the current 'buzz-word(s).
At the moment every politician claims that they have made their views on brexit 'very clear', despite the fact that no-one has a fucking clue as to what is going on.
