Their 2nd Goal

Not a foul and would hate for us to have a goal chalked off like that. However, he needs to either be stronger or over exaggerate the elbow and go down like you'd see someone in Spanish league do. Have a roll around a bit too. How it happened didn't really give the ref much of a choice, easy goal to give.

Yep, and the fact that at no point did he ever look at Milan. Just purely accidental.
If you look again he flicks his finger into Milan's eye, and there was no need for a laughing emoji just because I have a different opinion to you.

In the final analysis the actual end of the skirmish that Marmoush instigates again and gives another shove if you can call it that, which puts Milan off by something like a six inch swing at the ball, apart from that it's all subjective depending on your bias.

The more I watch it the more it looks like Milan ran into his elbow. Especially from this angle. It's not a foul for me.

He definitely by approaching from behind actually makes his arm fold al, Which results in his elbow being out.

Foul or not a foul, can't go back in time.

Otherwise I had just watched back several highlights, notwithstanding a) an elbow to the face or b) someone running into an elbow, I was more c) focused on the firm finger face fucking a fraction of a second later. Arms and hands all akimbo. Out to consult with a solicitor.

Like grabbing wildly for a bowling ball while blindfolded.

It was very soft and he should never have stopped but……I do wonder if that was a Cov goal at Anfield or Old Trafford, if it would have stood?

His elbow literally goes up into his face. I’m surprised it’s not a red let alone not a foul. They bottled it while trying all they could to rule out ours.

I mean here it looks like he runs into his elbow...

At the time, I just thought Milan had dived in and got rolled.

When they looked at it with VAR, I thought it had a chance of being overruled, but as others have said, if it had been at the other end and ruled out we'd all be fuming.

I personally don't think it's a foul, but Milan wasn't being a pussy, he took a right whack in the face and it stunned him, when it's shown in slow-mo it looks like he's carried on for longer than he has. He took a whack, it stunned him and gave Marmoush enough space for a shot....

The shot should've been saved though. Rushworth got a decent hand to it.

Fully agree with the point about the Maddison/Cherif corner incident earlier in the thread too, how Cherif got pulled up for that was ridiculous. Maddison annoyed me more then than he did kissing the badge when he scored

They didn't show our goal on the big screen. Bit churlish but it's their prerogative I guess. I watched their second goal back and thought it was a foul but would of been pissed off had we scored it and disallowed

An elbow is an elbow, those saying Milan ran into it, why was Marmoush’s arm that high anyways, Milan had to close down the angle of course he’s gonna get tight, accidental or not its a foul, T got sent off for an accidental elbow jumping for a header…

Milan was fouled, Im not having this “he’s a pussy” or “he ran into it” bollocks, an elbow to the face hurts, and he had to close down the angle, it was described as “significant contact but not a foul” so what is a foul then?

Is this not a bit of a contradiction, would admitting Milan "took a right whack in the face" not be more of a reason for it being a foul? And I'm someone who didn't think it was a foul in the ground or watching it back after, but I'm starting to doubt it.

I was surprised in a video someone posted where Alan Smith (I presume anyway) on commentary said it wasn't deliberate, ignoring that intention doesn't necessarily factor into whether it's a foul or not.

I'm 50/50 on it being a foul, but Milan stayed on his feet for a second and then went down. Why gamble there? He may of thought the freekick would almost certainly be given and Mamoush may have been given a red. The fact is the elbow didn't put him on the ground, he made that decision. Had he not done that, there would of been no goal. Mamoush would have never of got that shot off. Milan is not that kind of player, throwing himself on the ground etc. Suprising.

Caleb stayed on his feet against Forest before going down and the goal was still overturned Im not having this didnt go down straight away bollocks either. Players who do should be booked too

I think it’s down to consistency again, on another day the goal wouldve been ruled out. The lack of consistency throughout the game was terrible, quick bookings for us, but repetitive fouls from spurs players not booked killing our momentum

The Maddison/Cherif incident where the Referee said "James, Cherif......." . I know there is a big difference in how long they have been playing in the Premier League but surely a Referee should call them both by their first or surname, not differentiate. You are just asking for problems by not showing impartiality, especially, as you said, he blamed Cherif despite Maddison bear hugging him all around the area. Then again we all know Madley is a crap referee who just loves himself.

Not a foul for me, but given how it's split people on here that's probably an indicator that it wasn't a clear and obvious error therefore they made the right decision not overturning the on field decision.

The amount of cynical fouls was annoying, just enough or not in a postion on the pitch to warrant a booking. Maybe we just need to wise up, be less honest and roll a few more times on the pitch.
Regarding the second goal, Milan for some reason wasn't even looking at the ball then moves into his hand at pace which forces the elbow up back into his face. Never a foul and should have actually tried to tackle Marmoush properly in the first instance.

15 fouls and 1 booking. And I reckon they picked the ball up after every one of those fouls.

There doesn't have to be intent for it to be a foul. Milan was affected by the elbow in the face and so most referees would probably give a foul. There is no reason to penalise Marmoush beyond that.
But the ref didn't give a foul and VAR didn't think there was enough contact to overturn it. I presume this is because they are trying to reduce the number of times VAR interrupts, as in the world cup.
But we all know teams are not all treated the same in this respect. Having said this I thought the Yirenkyi one was given harshly, so it has evened up.

Foul for me. If someone gets caught with a high boot to the head by accident its a foul, dont know what gives the elbow special permission

I would put Yrenki in for Saturday or KKH and drop MVE. He is really struggling to adapt to the PL which is strange.

Picking the ball up to stop the other team taking a quick free kick is as bad as kicking it away in my opinion and should be penalised in the same way
Regularly watching team's obstruct the taking of Fks and the team's that won it simply passes it sideways or backwards to start the game, what's that all about, the team that's blocks it never recieving sanction, get the buggers booked please!🤔

Milan ran into his elbow. There was zero movement of Marmoush's elbow into Milans face.

So I get it, not everyone is the same. Everyone has different pain thresholds, different reactions to things that happen. However, im 100% on the side of he shouldve carried on. It was a slight knock to the face. He goes down easily to try and buy a foul. It backfires and he gifts him a free pop shot which (Rushworth should save granted, but the shot shouldnt have been allowed in the first place) we are punished from.

Im a GK, and the amount of times ive had to carry on until the ball is out of play in uncountable. Ive took full force shots direct in the face resulting in a broken nose, but got back up with tears in my eyes to see the ball out of play for a corner. Ive taken full force shots to the bollocks but got back up until a time to stop and catch a breather. Ive broken fingers making saves but carried on. Imagine if a keeper just went down at every slight knock they took and left the goal gaping? And this is just Sunday league and 5-a-side. If i can do it for a bit of fun, then how can a PROFESSIONAL player on £40k a week not?

All shown perfectly here by a girl taking a 75mph softball in the face, yet still cracked on and tried to get the run out before assessing her injuries.
