Going to Dublin for a week next month, just for work though

Just had a week in the van at Chapel Las Vegas, Lincs.
We just fancied somewhere easy to get to and cheapo.
It was great for the first three nights as we had the site to ourselves, and then about five other tents/vans turned up. It was still ok until about 4.30am when two ambulances and a police car rolled up. Turned out that a guy in one of the tents had had a heart attack - and, sadly, didn't survive.
Nobody expects that on holiday.

Obviously late to the party but I absolutely love this idea. How old are your kids?
Also help ease the guilty of not always doing enough family things in the week due to work/other commitments, if I know we have a guaranteed one weekend a month plan!

We went to Sorrento a few weeks ago, was a nice place, enjoyed it. Albeit felt we didn’t get to fully explore it all, as we were away with a group.

I'm going to Alicante this weekend with my missus and the baby (leaving the older two with their grandad). Looking forward to going through the airport not either half cut or hungover coming or going from Beni!

But instead going through it sleep deprived with a crying baby and a ton of carry on luggage to look after it.

I went to western Wales recently, stayed in a lovely cottage by the sea. Local boozer just down the road with fantastic views. Funnily enough... I've had some of the best times in Britain without going too far. Scotland is another favourite of mine, it probably also helps that I've got Scottish family ties!

June was a bit crazy but managing to combine climbing Snowdon this weekend with this month's trip and will be heading to a beach near there on Sunday.
It's a great new years resolution to be fair. Might prove a bit trickier once the season starts though!

Jumped on the train to Poole for the day and was sat having a coffee in the Quay earlier and Gazza randomly walked in.
Was going to accost him for a selfie when he came out but he never did. Looked a shadow of his former self.

Its now 8am, barely a person in sight and every bed and parasol taken. 4 pools on here and all the same. The rules specifically say 'no reserving of sunbeds'. Fortunately the red sea is lovely and warm and the private beach has plenty of room.
Selfish pigs.

Was in Sousse in June, was having to get up at 5am so we could get two sun beds. Hotel wasn’t bothered about enforcing so called rules, so you have to play the game or be stuck inside. We need to stop with that sort of holiday anyway as doing nothing by a pool or on a beach all week is fucking boring.
We’ve got a big US road trip next year and I can’t wait.

We might be off to Nashville and Memphis in October.
All has come a bit out of the blue and not places I had really considered before but now looking forward to it.

Ah yes. Our original plan was Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans. But we discovered we’d be in Nashville during the CMA festival, but despite us both being into country music decided we couldn’t be bothered with the inconvenience of a blocked off City. So we’ll do that another time. We’ve moved this one to West-Mid west, starting San Francisco and ending in Denver.

I hate sitting on the beach, sand gets everywhere. Saying that though, I'm not one for sitting next to the pool for hours on end either. Much rather be out looking at the sights etc.

Nashville is crazy but fun, not sure Memphis was as good but was worth the visit and we visited Graceland which was a good day trip, long way from Nashville in the car but easy driving. The Peabody ducks in memphis is strange but traditional

Where in Wales, I'm in Portugal at the moment but always have a few days at the British seaside before the kids are back at school. Like you said, we've had some great holidays abroad but the best ones for me have been down Devon and Cornwall. Thinking Wales for a change, either Tenby, New Quay or Barmouth

Me and Mrs GE enjoyed a couple of weeks in Tenerife in February this year flying from Norwich. Near perfect weather and couldnt fault the Tui Blue hotel at Los Gigantes. Stunning nearby volcanic scenery. Will definitely go there again, maybe next year ?
Now we got a week in Malta in November, again flying from Norwich but by the shitty Ryanair this time. Havent done Malta before so any advice on things to see would be warmly welcome.

Low to mid 20's every day. The Atlantic keeps it reasonable nearly all year round. Just perfect for me. I cant hack it when the temperature goes 30°c or more.

Malta is lovely, stayed in the centre of Valletta. Get a 7 day bus ticket, can go anyway on the island

Is that the tall hotel right on the front? Stayed there when it was under a different name if so, sea view there was hard to beat

Yes. That's the one. As you say, the sea view was awesome. On our first stay there, we were allocated a room land facing which was ok but we decided to pay the extra and have an ocean view this year. Really loved the hotel and found it difficult to find fault. Half board was more than adequate as we pigged out at breakfast then ate to our hearts content at dinner. Buffet service for both.
Glut of nearby bars if you got the hankering for somewhere different to drink. We counted roughly 15 bars within a 100 yards of the hotel gates. Footy available at a couple of them with Highland Paddy offering the most different screens.
