Germany is in recession. Italy, France and Spain are also struggling. And they are gradually getting worse. Last year we were told by the EU that the UK would be the worse out of the lot. It either shows their lack of knowledge on the subject or they lied. I said at the time I thought they were wrong and got castigated on here for saying so.
We are still looking good for some sort of deal. The EU can't afford to let us go without one. Look at how much we spend in the EU against how much we sell. It is spread out into lots of countries I hear. Yes. But it is billions to all the biggest countries. And they are in trouble now. Yet these same people will say that losing the same value of sales of goods to us would be a major problem. Yet we are not in recession before it starts.
I agree it won't be good for us if it happens. But the only ones that are willing for it to happen seems to be those who run the EU. And that is only so they can keep a hold of the power they have.
Forgive my scepticism - nothing was hidden for 30yrs...until they released the files that showed things were hiddenI don’t place my trust in them. I just don’t ignore the fact that they were voted in on a manifesto of getting closer ties to the EU and then debated and signed the treaties in plain site. It wasn’t slipped out on a good day to bury bad news day with no one noticing. Manifestos are public, all the treaties were in the news while being debated and drawn up, nothing was hidden. Trust has nothing to do with it.

Trade and industry bigwigs will lean on these idiot middle men in Brussels sooner or later and common sense will prevail all round. If trade deals can be forged in the past then they can be forged in the future. I still think the more spiteful members of the EU will try and protect their little cartel by making things as tricky as possible and therefore there will be disruption down to them but it will sort itself out.

We always get lied to from those who run our country though. Name the last PM that didn't lie to us about major things. Those in charge of whatever lie to us. Things are not run to our benefit. It is to benefit those in charge. The problem is these days we have the internet and people get to know the truth. Now you have China that is in charge of the internet there. And Russia is preparing to have similar. Then they can continue to run their countries as they have for a long time.

The UK economy is growing st a slower pace and business investment is well down as businesses delay investment due to uncertainty.
People are stockpiling which is creating unnecessary costs. Holding stock and renting wharehouse space means tieing up capital and/or borrowing money.
Even for me. I have to place my U.K. beer and cider orders now to be sure of getting them from small firms in the UK. That is money and space.

All these things are hardly life threatening are they ? There are people in the world still dodging landmines, walking miles for water, risking oceans in dinghys. With the efforts you employ on here for the EU you would be better targeting something like; famine, drought, species extinction, animal welfare etc than this boring old bollocks !

Just slagging Brexit because the negative side is painfully obvious, and messing up my Cashflow, and the tangible benefits are hypothetical things which may or may not happen at some future, as yet, undefined time. 50 years according to Rees Mogg.

And this was halfway through the year as well.I didn’t have a strong opinion either was on the UK joining the Euro. It turned out, that up to now, that not to join the Euro was the right decision. Linked öttinger‘s answer to the report and confirmed that the final report overruled Öttinger‘s. I confirmed the vote in the EUparliament. For all that trying to find the truth, you called me a liar and now you say I make out the Selmayr scandal wasn’t wrong. You can’t make this up.
