Germany is in recession. Italy, France and Spain are also struggling. And they are gradually getting worse. Last year we were told by the EU that the UK would be the worse out of the lot. It either shows their lack of knowledge on the subject or they lied. I said at the time I thought they were wrong and got castigated on here for saying so.

We are still looking good for some sort of deal. The EU can't afford to let us go without one. Look at how much we spend in the EU against how much we sell. It is spread out into lots of countries I hear. Yes. But it is billions to all the biggest countries. And they are in trouble now. Yet these same people will say that losing the same value of sales of goods to us would be a major problem. Yet we are not in recession before it starts.

I agree it won't be good for us if it happens. But the only ones that are willing for it to happen seems to be those who run the EU. And that is only so they can keep a hold of the power they have.

It is mutually beneficial for there to be a deal, the UK will also be desperate to get one sorted out.

I don’t place my trust in them. I just don’t ignore the fact that they were voted in on a manifesto of getting closer ties to the EU and then debated and signed the treaties in plain site. It wasn’t slipped out on a good day to bury bad news day with no one noticing. Manifestos are public, all the treaties were in the news while being debated and drawn up, nothing was hidden. Trust has nothing to do with it.
Forgive my scepticism - nothing was hidden for 30yrs...until they released the files that showed things were hidden

Assuming all parts are made in the UK. Which they aren’t.

Ask the Leave campaign economist, it’s his prediction.
You talk as though we don't have the skills to.make everything.

Of course we will. But there are those that make out that the opposite is true. And that is on both sides.

Yes the truth was hidden from us. It was never going to be about a common market and nothing else. And if it was going to be run to the benefit of the people that live in the EU it would have been a good thing.

We always get lied to from those who run our country though. Name the last PM that didn't lie to us about major things. Those in charge of whatever lie to us. Things are not run to our benefit. It is to benefit those in charge. The problem is these days we have the internet and people get to know the truth. Now you have China that is in charge of the internet there. And Russia is preparing to have similar. Then they can continue to run their countries as they have for a long time.

Trade and industry bigwigs will lean on these idiot middle men in Brussels sooner or later and common sense will prevail all round. If trade deals can be forged in the past then they can be forged in the future. I still think the more spiteful members of the EU will try and protect their little cartel by making things as tricky as possible and therefore there will be disruption down to them but it will sort itself out.

Yeah, of course it will.

Germany is not in recession. It is on the border of a recession for the reasons that are affecting the car industry and in particular the slow down in China.

The UK economy is growing st a slower pace and business investment is well down as businesses delay investment due to uncertainty.

People are stockpiling which is creating unnecessary costs. Holding stock and renting wharehouse space means tieing up capital and/or borrowing money.

Even for me. I have to place my U.K. beer and cider orders now to be sure of getting them from small firms in the UK. That is money and space.

Are you claiming not to know about Lisbon, Schengen, Maastricht or the Euro? You didn’t notice Farage in the media all the time, so maybe you just don’t check out what is going on.

You're very lucky the pound isn't still around 1.30/Euro.

All these things are hardly life threatening are they ? There are people in the world still dodging landmines, walking miles for water, risking oceans in dinghys. With the efforts you employ on here for the EU you would be better targeting something like; famine, drought, species extinction, animal welfare etc than this boring old bollocks !

I didn’t vote for this boring old bollocks, and yes there are plenty of things we should be doing instead of wasting time and money shooting ourselves in the foot.

I am not employing anything for the EU. I am not praising or slagging the EU. Just slagging Brexit because the negative side is painfully obvious, and messing up my Cashflow, and the tangible benefits are hypothetical things which may or may not happen at some future, as yet, undefined time. 50 years according to Rees Mogg.

Yawn. You are by far the most boring person on this forum, pedalling the same line over and over again. Get out a bit more.

Zero growth in the last 3 months after a previous 3 months of contraction is as close as you can get.

You continually have a go at the UK for a slower growth. But it is a growth that most countries of the EU would love to have. And that was after those who run the EU tried to tell us that we would go into recession and the rest of the EU would do well. Yeah OK.

Ask me a question.

You mean like we would struggle if we didn't join the Euro? That was also a lie. It was the best thing we didn't do and those who said we would be best to join it admitted they were wrong.

You constantly praise the EU. You constantly try and make out that the Selmayr scandal wasn't wrong although you know it is. You constantly have a go at the UK. Like you have just mentioned how we have slowed down with growth. Not a surprise when so many countries in the EU are in recession. But we are still in growth although if we had listened to those you praise we would have millions less jobs and house prices would have crashed.

Growth of zero. Only beat it on a technicality.

Yet you have a go at the UK which is still growing. You have a go at those involved in this shitfest but never say a word on how it started. Maybe if Juncker hadn't refused to have a meeting with Cameron and then told the UK that nothing would ever change just a couple of days before the referendum we wouldn't have voted leave. Yet you defend everything he does and everything he has ever done yet have a go at those who have done the same but in a much lower scale.

Seems like something 'big' going down in Parliament at 8pm. If you believe the hype.

Chatter is another general election, May resignation, Torys quitting party.

Maybe a new wording for the backstop and why the so called May deal should be accepted.

I didn’t have a strong opinion either was on the UK joining the Euro. It turned out, that up to now, that not to join the Euro was the right decision. I don’t know how making a wrong decision equates to telling a lie.

So those that run the EU are clueless as we were supposed to do badly last year and all other countries in the EU were supposed to do well. And this was halfway through the year as well.

What are you on about? Juncker said the EU won’t change the 4 freedoms. It was true. Nothing to do with Juncker, just a fact which he conveyed. He did agree we wouldn’t have to bail the Euro out.

No I don’t constantly praise the EU. I just correct you and point out the negatives of Brexit.

I read the Selmayr report, pointed out the misquote in the press release. Read and posted the relevant rules. Linked öttinger‘s answer to the report and confirmed that the final report overruled Öttinger‘s. I confirmed the vote in the EUparliament. For all that trying to find the truth, you called me a liar and now you say I make out the Selmayr scandal wasn’t wrong. You can’t make this up.

If I say that UK growth is slowing, I am having a go at the UK? No. I am having a go at the effects of Brexit.

If you were not lying why did you try twice after admitting that the second enquiry came to the same conclusion as the first to make out that what the EU said was correct and that it was lawful and right?

You correct me? It is me correcting you constantly. Your twisted views stop us from debating this debacle properly.

The UK will grow slower than every other major European economy in the coming years

So we would slow last year to the slowest and get overtaken by Italy, Greece and Spain. And the other EU countries will grow strongly....Last year.

And guess what...... although they got it totally wrong last year they are saying the same for next year.

UK economic growth tipped to be slowest in Europe next year

Yet you will think of an excuse for them. You always do.

I am not making excuses. It doesn’t bother me. Lots of people make predictions. It is hard to foresee the future, but we have now had 4 straight months of falling business investment. That is definitely a Brexit effect and together with a slowing of the the world economy will probably have a negative effect on the UK economy at the start of 2019. people like me stockpiling in advance of Brexit will alleviate that a bit. If I have been advised to order now for the summer, so will others. Which will mean that later in the year our orders will be missed. Could be an up and down year. In a no deal it will be different again, or if Trump slaps tariffs on German cars, the EU will slow again.

So, who knows what exactly the GDP growth will be? If the commission is right you will say nothing, if they are wrong you’ll be jumping for joy.
