I am not defending them. They didn’t make the laws. He is an employee and has labour law protections.

It won’t harm 27 countries as it will 1 country.

I am opposed to Brexit because it was a stupid decision and an act of self harm for the UK.

The people who will be most hit by Brexit in the UK will be those who are poorest. So, yes I do care and that’s why I am against it.

The most right wing racist nationalists are on the leave side. The EU has rules to prevent fascism and preserve democracy. They hate the EU for that.

That's not completely true. The Tories are the main reason we're here - they were the ones that wanted the cuts and austerity in the first place. Had it just been Lib Dems do you think they'd have pushed through those cuts?

And those cuts may well have been watered down from what the tories actually wanted to get through - cuts got more drastic when they won a majority.

Brexit party tops Westminster election poll for first time

Nigel Farage’s Brexit party has surged into first place as voters’ favourites, according to a new poll. It is the first time the party has achieved top position in a national poll. The results suggest hundreds of Conservative seats are at risk.

The Brexit party’s support increased by two points to 26% of the vote in the latest Opinium poll – for the Observer – which asked people how they would vote in the next Westminster election.

Labour is in second place on 22%, but its support has fallen by seven points over the past two weeks. The Tories are third on 17%, with their support down five points, and the Lib Dems are up five points, on 16% of the vote.

These results come after a poll last week put the Lib Dems in first place, in another sign that parties with a clear position on Brexit are gaining support while the Conservatives and Labour continue to grapple with their stances on leaving the EU. Both parties are under pressure to set out their pro-Brexit or pro-Remain positions more unequivocally.

    You are not defending them?

I didn't even mention the name Selmayr yet you jumped in to defend him and those who put him in a job for life he shouldn't have got by EU law.

Is that like the rules, regulations and laws to protect the environment that they made but ignore them when German car makers seriously flout them?

So we should ignore Farage and the points he makes but listen to someone who was a main part in the murder of many because he makes what is said to be good points?

    Meanwhile:

„The European Banking Authority shut its doors in London today.

Reopening at new address in Paris on monday..

    Quietly done...“

All irrelevant and nothing to do with Brexit of course.

No one said that. But you would be stupid to ignore good points just because you don’t like the person making them.

E.g. I have constantly said that Farage was right about the UK FPTP no longer working.

No, I didn’t. I jumped in to criticise your view that people are turning against the EU because of the people running it. Your favourite example happens to be Selmayr. You refuse to acknowledge that by your own standards, May being allowed to appoint the head of the UK civil service without any transparent process is worse. The EU is not falling apart and I have not heard people going on about such things ( e.g. Selmayr) - outside of the UK right wing MSM. The discussion has been about a Europe of fatherlands, or of basic social standards, or the benefits of the EU, or the advantage / disadvantages of the EURO, the environment etc..

You tend to make sweeping statements full of Faragist cliches.

Neither Le Pen or Salvini want to leave the EU, it seems that Brexit hasnt been as appealing to others as some expected.

Nowhere does it mention leaving the EU and he spouts what people want to hear without any actual substance. Who wouldn’t want lower taxes and more jobs? In the long term he is going to leave Italy in an even worse situation.

Both were shelved in her latest manifesto and the German eurosceptics also watered down theirs. You’d think with the success of Brexit that they’d have included them for sure.

Corbyn has been elected to opposition. If he’s not meddling in British politics he isn’t doing his job. That’s the difference.

You voted for the Brexit party as a protest vote, I’m not sure you should be calling others naive, especially as I believe you’d find a lot of his other policies abhorrent.

No clutching on my part. If they have a vote & decide to stay or leave it is entierly up to them to do it.

We did so, some are clutching at straws to overturn the result.
