It'll be nice to play on grass for a change, the Liberty pitch looked great on the TV. Maybe the luck is starting to turn our way in the last 3rd of the season, a penalty and a defensive feck up like we usually have, some more of those would be welcome.

Isnt it amazing how one good performance and a win has everyone buzzing again and Wednesday cannot come around quick enough. On a separate note the one thing I miss more than anything is those weekday evening matches at Highfield Rd, the floodlights shining as tou walked up to the ground on a cold evening, smell of fried onions and finding some where to park in the streets. The atmosphere even with only 14 or 15 thousand with the cop swaying was always fantastic

I miss that mixture of cigarette smoke and the pitch.

Has to be the same starting X1. Although I wouldn’t bet against Robins putting Allen or Shipley in for Biamou.

Seems every evening game at the Trillion dollar stadium is played in the pissing rain - not the best for us

Looks to be a bit of history and no love lost between Swansea and the ref on Wednesday. Apparently Sansea manager referred to him as a cheat and not trust worthy as he holds grudges following their match in November. Lets hope he keeps up his favouritism

A draw would be a great result. Keep the points coming.

But we need to play like we did on Sat. No sitting back playing for a draw. Keep pushing.

The way we played on Saturday wont be effective against everybody - As I said in the match tread - Robins must have watched Barnsley in their victory last week against Brentford (well documented through our friend on here how they play)

I think the pitch really suited us playing the way we did on Saturday Vs Brentford - they weren't confident with it and you could see that particularly with our second goal.

Also - as alluded to on Sky and what generally people know about that style of play, It has to be executed pretty much perfectly, at all times by each player involved in each area of the pitch - knowing when to go, who to press and when - or else massive gaps can open up and good sides, on good pitches can really exploit these.

Don't expect to see the same on Wednesday - Unless Robins feels that this WILL be effective. He'll have certainly taken an interest in their game at the weekend (I have no Idea how it panned out and how Huddersfield played)

I'd take a draw right now too!

looking at Robins comments, Dabo will be travelling to Swansea. Great news.

Godden isn’t far behind.

Swansea play 3-4-1-2 the majority of the time which is formation we used against Brentford on Saturday.

Given that fact and that Robins did actually make decent substitutions so players did not play the full 90 minutes would be very surprised if not the same personnel and same formation unless there are injuries I am not aware of. I think I would keep it same but personally I would be tempted to give Hamer a rest and start James tbh as he is looking fatigued unsurprisingly....however think MR will go with team below in 3-4-1-2 formation.

Wilson

Osti Fadz Hyam

DaCosta Hamer Kelly McCallum

O'Hare

Biamou Walker

Subs: Marosi, Pask, Rose, James, Sheaf, Shipley, Gyo, Baka

So we need to big up Andy Woolmer and really piss Cooper off. Every small advantage will help and our lads should go down giving him decisions to make

Be interesting to see if Robins is brave enough to allow the wing backs to press as high as they did on Saturday, it really made the difference for us. I'd be more than happy with a point here.

I think if we could get a couple of decisions go our way or even get a pen it would really get to their heads and wind Cooper up. definitely need to take advantage of this

Bit trickier for that style to be effective this time round in my opinion.
Swansea play a similar system so they have that extra CB to play out with & all 3 are pretty comfortable on the ball. Their wing-backs are probably the best pairing in the league too & could cause us lots of problems. Another tactical masterclass from MR needed!

Swansea don't concede many so a draw would be a great result, esp after winning against brentford. But again if we don't get a result as long as it's a close well fought game that we can take something from so be it and we move forward to look at the March games.

Chances are MR will go with the same line-up given how good an overall performance it was by everyone. Hopefully he'll be able to use those subs well like Sat to keep legs fresh and the intensity up.

Wouldn't be surprised to see James come back in for Kelly in this one. Think it would sensible to manage his minutes while he's still fresh back from injury.

Point would be a great result.

If we play like we did last time we played them minus their goal and a bit of luck we should beat them there is no reason we cannot go for 3 points as we are usually good against the top teams in the league (other than Norwich)

We need to start putting the match date, day of the week, an time in the thread title. One of these days I'm going to fuck up and miss a match.

Also, maybe adding whether it is on the red button or not would be a good idea too.

The clash of ex-Villa players should be interesting, ours on a free, theirs cost £5.4m, more than our whole team.
O'Hare quick, lively needs a goal, Hourihane getting on, ponderous but can score..........who will come out on top??

Hourihane is on loan so not an 'ex-Villa' player. He's got a great left foot, need to make sure we don't give away any unnecessary free kicks around the box.

Hourihane is a top player, would love to have him here. He isn't that old either.

From riscajack on their site, his words not mine

Is Hourihane going to make the inteceptions and tackles Grimes does pretty much every game? Is Hourihane going to receive the ball from the back four and keep us in possession?

I can't see it all to be honest.

It's a tough one as Hourihane has the quality in him with set pieces and he can score from anywhere, on reflection I'd give him another game Wednesday but we can't afford another game like we had against Huddersfield, Brentford etc where we are carrying him.

make of them what you will

In order to set the tone for the team we need to start with Kelly. When he came off against Brentford the team was settled and his absence was not an issue.
