I just hope that some of our prospects coming through will specialise in a position and not just be used as utility guys. Great that Eccles and Burroughs are knocking but I want to see players in their natural positions if possible.

I feel uneasy about the Isaac Osbourne approach. Let them shine in their position

Inclined to agree but then players effectively as wingers allowed Bayliss and Shipley to break through.

Agree but was a much lower level. Easier to bring youth into L2 & even to an extent L1, but the gulf from youth football to Championship is huge. Its a shame but they will need to be exceptional to bridge that gap. We've seen plenty struggling who are seasoned pros to go from L1 to Championship and needed last year to bed in. This campaign will prove if some of those are good enough, bit for a young untested then even harder. I suspect hey'll need to go out on loan and do well like Drysdale did last season. He's not mentioned on this and yet he (imo) is the most likely to get some decent game time this season unless we send him on loan to a L1 team this time around.

Fair points. I would note that we’ve let a lot of the youth go so I think the club have filtered a lot of the weaker players out. The likes of Eccles look of decent quality.

Quality! Wonder what our long term plans are for him in terms of position.

I think we will hype him up to the enth degree, give him a few cameo appearances as a late sub against tired opposition, convince the footballing world that he's the next best thing, then sell him to Norwich for £7million.
