Ok, not looking for an argument but, who was Haji Wright supposed to be marking then?
He was front post. This guy started about ten yard behind him. He was Kitching’s man.

Watching the highlights back and there are multiple occasions when Kitching fails to deal with the threat, including their goal. I’m fine with keeping him, but I really think a better starting CB would do more for this team than any new LB, ST or even GK.He was front post. This guy started about ten yard behind him. He was Kitching’s man.

Ok then, basically he's not marking anybody just fresh air.
Same as Sakamoto and several others. That’s how a partial zonal marking system works.

That wasn't the issue, it was the fact that it was orchestrated before the game kicked off. It's over, and we move on.
Only way, otherwise we dwell on something for years on end, like stupid Sunderland supporters.
And we ain't like that.
BTW, I was at that match in 77, it was roughly 12 minutes extra, and we did like any other team would do, especially Sunderland, and we played for time.
Hypocrites, the lot of them. Also, what a lot of people don't know, is that near the end of those 12 minutes or so, the scoreboard announced an error to the score, and we all thought it would say Sunderland had equalised, (it was announced as 1-0 to Everton originally), which would have meant we were down. Turned out they lost 2-0
Hutch got two, then we let in two soft goals. Nothing changes much I guess.
The train with Bristol City supporters was late, hence the delay. There was no intention. That wasn't the issue, it was the fact that it was orchestrated before the game kicked off.
But, as you say, it's the present that counts.
Le overpriced FeeJust a quick one to add and this seemed like the thread. I think Le Fee might be the most overhyped Championship signing of all time. Nice name though.
Sunderland paying him £67k p/w apparently.Le overpriced Fee
“Orchestrated “???That wasn't the issue, it was the fact that it was orchestrated before the game kicked off.

Just my opinion, based on being around then, not worth going into it all tbh.“Orchestrated “???
Please explain.
He played really well as well. Had Wright in his pocket, though that’s not saying much, unfortunately. Ballard was immense for them as well, won everything in the air. Having said that, they had very little else, and we should have buried them. Still wake up in the night and see that goal.Apparently he's a lovely bloke, he's just an about fucker once he steps over the white line.we could use some of that devilment ourselves!
Ben Sheaf pass completion was 81.6%Wright was awful and he has been for weeks now. I actually think he is completely shot and has zero confidence. He looked slow, weak, no control, at times fell over with nobody near him... really bad. I'd also love to compare Sheaf and Grimes in terms of pass completion, I'd imagine it's laughable.
For context mind, Matt grimes did attempt 141 passes compared to Ben Sheafs 49 attempts.Ben Sheaf pass completion was 81.6%
Matt Grimes was 80.1%

He did, aided by the ref a little. When Haji did get the better of him, fairly IMO he got pulled up for a foul.He played really well as well. How many did Bobby Thomas attempt, not too many I think. For context mind, Matt grimes did attempt 141 passes compared to Ben Sheafs 49 attempts.
Not sure in all honesty. As you can see Grimes had the highest progressive distance by quite some margin. 498 to 214.Not really relevant when the metric was about pass completion rates. Sheaf's was better, particularly with medium and long passing. In fact, probably fair to say that Grimes pass completion rate is distorted by him exchanging passes with Thomas and Kitching.

85 passes, second highest in the squad. Second highest progression distance. Flip side is forth lowest completion percentage at 78%How many did Bobby Thomas attempt, not too many I think.
He was trying to advance us early on didn't really come off though, but a couple were really good and should have come to something, it's actually one of the reasons I liked him from the start when he joined us.85 passes, second highest in the squad. Indeed the fact a Hollywood actor bought their club doesn't make their fanbase wankersThere were a load in the Globe in London the other year, ( we were at QPR), this was after they'd beat us in the cup, and they were sound.
Yeah under the system, both CBs try and move us up the pitch. Part of the reason I’d rate darling here but looks Brum inbound. He was trying to advance us early on didn't really come off though, but a couple were really good and should have come to something, it's actually one of the reasons I liked him from the start when he joined us.
Everyone looks Brum bound according to clickbait. They are this seasons Stoke.Yeah under the system, both CBs try and move us up the pitch. Part of the reason I’d rate darling here but looks Brum inbound.
Yeah, it’s going to be a long long window I thinkEveryone looks Brum bound according to clickbait. They are this seasons Stoke.
Great, I've already said why that is.Not sure in all honesty. As you can see Grimes had the highest progressive distance by quite some margin. 498 to 214.
Also attempted way more riskier passes with 24 long range attempted, compared to sheafs 5 and 62 medium passes to sheafs 14.
Even if you accommodate for his longer time on the pitch, and reduce it down to 72 so (pass/120 X 72), he still has higher figures accross the board by some distance (attempted would be 85 (rounded up) to sheafs 49).
Even the Poku deal doesn't seem as done as many articles suggest. It seems to come mainly from Fry who probably thinks Birmingham will chuck them more money than most before going to tribunal.Yeah, it’s going to be a long long window I think
Around 100 but mostly easy stuff. How many did Bobby Thomas attempt, not too many I think.
