Just walked in the door, what a long and ultimately frustrating day, and I have to be up for work in a couple of hours. Can’t knock the lads too much, we were by far the better team over the 2 legs and have been sucker punched right at the end. I think if we get that equaliser 10 mins earlier we win within the 90 mins as they were on the ropes - huge chance for Haji at the end.

Looking forward, bar a handful of players I couldn’t confidently say any of that squad will be with us come the start of next season, whether that’s through FL wanting them moved or the players wanting a new challenge. I think we are in for a big summer but you have to trust FL, DK & the recruitment team to leave us with a better squad at the start of next year.

A few weeks away from all football to recharge the batteries and then we do it all again in August

Sunderland giving it the biggun to the coaches. Let em have their trip to wembley and get battered. Theyve saved all their benefits up to buy a ticket
I've actually got no ill will towards Sunderland (now that I'm home and having a can because I can't sleep).

My heart says I'd rather them, than Wilder's Wankers win at Wembley.

However my head says I'd rather Sheffield United out of the championship next season.

People are slating Wright and usually post heartbreak emotions cloud the judgement.

But I can honestly say Wright has been shambolic the last month of this season. He's failed to control every ball, he's lost every ball, he's been slow, lethargic.

How on earth Lampard left him on I don't think I will ever know
Penalties. The longer the match went on, the harder the decision.

Such a heartbreaking way to lose the playoffs like last night, but I am immensely proud of the players. Frank said it in his interview we were visibly the better side over two legs, but they’ve got to Wembley, fair play to them although I think we see them again next season. 🩵

Another great season following the city & there are good times ahead , that were guaranteed of , with Frank at the helm .
Last night was excellent & only really soured by Sunderland’s ineptitude to protect our players after the final whistle , but we will see them next season to put things right .

Felt exactly the same as Luton away in extra time that. Game had turned and we were in the driving seat to go and win it - Lampard sits on his hands and makes no changes until BTA. Let’s Sunderland come back into the game.

He’s done a great job but he’s got to learn from this for next season and be better at managing games.

Would drive Wright/Sheaf to anyone who wants them in the summer.

One silver lining is Sheffield United will absolutely batter Sunderland. 210 minutes of absolute terrorist football. Replay both those games and 99/100 times we go through.

proud of the lads. More subs were needed but bar one they all gave it their all. It wouldn’t be cov without our annual soul destroying loss in a big game !

The biggest mystery in football is when a team wins a game like that, which is fair enough.

But their first thought is to goad the opposition, I have seen more posts about Coventry Fans crying than I have of Sunderland enjoying the win

Really odd if you ask me

Well, they are arent they because we finished 5th? We’re top end.

Once the goalkeeping situation was sorted we gained alot of solidity at the back, and they were tremendous tonight. I 100% believe Thomas and Kitching can be a partnership next year, we need some experience with them to help them and us out throughout the season, because the lati/binks back up is way too weak.

MVE is MVE
Da Silva improved alot under Frank but LB/LWB has been a problem we’ve been plugging with loans consistently for about 5 seasons now

We conceded more than Hull, the defence is not top end. It was saved by our attack.

What ? They’re both absolute wank over a season. Our achilles heel has been these misfiring half arsed twats for forwards . Frank will know this for sure and we’ve actually done well as a club to have been so close to another visit to Wembley.
They won 9 out of 10. Instead we left Wright , "can't be arsed on". We would have won it

I'm over it now. My target for the season was too be in touch of the playoffs on the last day of the season, and we did that and then some.

This manufactured hatred between the clubs isn't something I buy into personally, but I guess it's each to their own. The shit housing around the advertising boards and especially the training room heating is pathetic though. If nothing else I'd make sure they've got cold showers the next time they come to the CBS in winter.

Overall we were better in possession, but also pedestrian at times, and simply couldn't finish most of the decent chances we did manufacture. They played a smart game, defended resolutely, and earned their win.

There was the usual cynical bollocks around time wasting and diving, but can we say we're any different? It's the way the game is played these days.

I still can't understand how a player as good as Wright played so badly last night, nor how Simms has gone so far backwards that he couldn't even get on the pitch. That's one for FL to sort, I guess - as it goes at the moment, I wouldn't be too sad to see either of them go.

Anyhow, onwards and upwards. I'm already looking forward to next season. Time to fire up the transfer rumour mill!

Ah well...we got back at 3.30.

I just knew that last corner was going to be the undoing of us, shame as the players had done us proud up to that point. It was worrying though as the dynamic changed in the second half of ET. We'd silenced the crowd and were well on top until then.

Saying that I wouldn't have wanted to be beaten at Wembley again, especially not by Hamer and Co.

I won't miss the motorway driving of the last six weeks or so.

Another quick glance at their forum...they want us to go the way of Bury.

Was chatting to a few fans on the way to the car last night. All polite talking about the game. Compliments about our play, wishing us luck, etc.

There's a different breed on message boards - ours too. Most fans aren't so extreme in real life.

They’re such a weird bunch. By far the weirdest fanbase in the EFL. Even worse than Wrexham if that’s possible.

Over the entire season yeah, we went through that patch under robins where we were conceding atleast two a game. Havent got the stats but feels like it shored up a bit after frank?

You’ve done them proud for sure along with the rest of the die hards. The most positive thing to come out of this season ( apart from Rudoni and Grimes ) has been our fantastic support, home and away ! 👍
