We gave a great account of ourselves tonight and deserved to win it over them, not taking anything away from where we have ended up after being 17th when Frank took over but my god he should have subbed Wright off midway through the second half for Simms, he was so poor again, they would have doubled up on Simms and left space for others as he would have been seen as a major threat the way we were crossing the ball into the box

Even into extra time the way we were on top i don't think you should be keeping someone on for penalties when they have been that poor, the way he played he probably would have missed a pen anyway

So disappointed we managed to get into the position to get to Wembley again and threw it away ourselves, we shouldn't have even got this far from where we were I know but it doesn't make it any easier to take

He should have been off at 90 mins. Assante and Simms on. We won 9 out of 10 games with those 2
What ? They’re both absolute wank over a season. Our achilles heel has been these misfiring half arsed twats for forwards . Frank will know this for sure and we’ve actually done well as a club to have been so close to another visit to Wembley.

Lads, just put the fat c**t on ignore.

He's clearly a weirdo getting off on upsetting already upset people.

But if you don't want to do the sensible thing and put Kizza on ignore watch out as if he gets upset enough he will talk about stabbing you.

Have to give credit to them. Their plan all along was to soak up the pressure and tire us out and hit us.
Teams have won European cups and League titles playing as Sunderland just have - Helenio Herrera - Wikipedia - and it's a perfectly legitimate way to play football.

First half - Sunderland played ok in the first 20 minutes but after that? It could be said that this is where Coventry lost the game - as how many chances did you want to score a goal? You should have led 2 v 0 at half time at least. Not our fault if you miss sitter after sitter. That's on you.

Second half - Sunderland were poor again. the biggest fault is that we couldn't keep a hold of the ball for toffee and gave it away every 5 seconds, which simply invites wave after wave of attacks. Hardly surprising that you scored. Fully deserved.

Extra time - we didnt do much again in the first period but second period we played a load better. Scoring as we did? Normally thats us on the receiving end of that.

At the end of the day it's all about scoring goals. Both games we have played pretty much the same way and we have ended up winning.

So the third and fourth placed teams go to Wembley, where we will be underdogs again. Sheffield United hasn't won at Wembley since 1925 and we have won twice in 10 visits to Wembley since 1973. However I wont be there but I'll make sure my son is. I've been 9 times - thats enough for me.

We played defensively against them at the SOL, won 2 v 1 and at Bramall Lane we lost 0 v 1 having missed a penalty; so we will soon see if it's an even match up. I've no idea how it will go but will be delighted if we are written off again.

We may go there - play exactly the same - and win. If we do win then we all know what a hard job we will face in the PL. If we dont win then we will see everyone again next year in the Championship where we will hopefully be much stronger having used the Bellingham et al transfer money to good effect.

We got off Coventry City FC exactly what we thought we would get - 2 hard games - and we won through by playing defensively, as teams throughout history have done. It'll be interesting to see if any other teams start to do this.

No-one can make a serious argument for Wright being premier league quality after tonight.

He had chances, one in particular on a plate and fluffed it. No fight in him, scared to make challenges - poor all round.

The rest of the team, dominated both legs, only to be undone by a late goal. They deserve massive credit. We’ve beaten teams by scoring late on many times over the last few seasons. That’s football.

look forward to the close season, the rumours and knowing that season tickets prices aren’t going to go through the roof as I imagine they may have for a few if we had made it to the premier league.

we’ll be good next season, don’t worry about that!

The lads went to a tough place and were brilliant for large parts of that game. Tats was another level, mve brilliant, Grimes, Thomas, etc they all fought for the badge. It's not meant to be this time, but i'm at peace with it, this club has given us so much to celebrate and hope for over the last few seasons. Pusb.

Premiership quality? The overwhelming majority of us have known he isn't Championship quality for a long time! :ROFLMAO:

Good point. I need to plan my trip to CBS before the prices go as Sky Blue high.

Defence is the main issue. Has been since last season. None of our CB's are top end championship IMO. We need to seriously clear out in the summer.
Well, they are arent they because we finished 5th? We’re top end.

Once the goalkeeping situation was sorted we gained alot of solidity at the back, and they were tremendous tonight. I 100% believe Thomas and Kitching can be a partnership next year, we need some experience with them to help them and us out throughout the season, because the lati/binks back up is way too weak.

MVE is MVE
Da Silva improved alot under Frank but LB/LWB has been a problem we’ve been plugging with loans consistently for about 5 seasons now
