I think Charles would be a good signing depending on fee.
He’s a good goalie, he made a great save against us to prevent us winning at Hillsborough in 4th round in 23/24.

My view is that ideally, we get an experienced prem GK to deputise Rushworth, a profile like Jason Steele/Darlow.

Rushworth will make the step up imo, but we need a Plan B in case he struggles. I’d like to see Dovin given a shot on loan somewhere because I have faith he could make the step up but he’s been out of it for a long time.

I’d keep Wilson as 3rd choice for the vibes.

My guess would be Dovin #2, Wilson #3 and we’ll sign a new #1.

I guess we have a small chance of gettting Rushworth back on another loan but I imagine we’ll probably end up with someone else.

Rushworth for £20m or Charles and Dubravka for £5m total?

As said above, the actual figure lobbed about inside the club is £220 million when you lump everything in. Mental

Anyway my take on the window

Going

Wilson
Woolfenden
Brau
Allen
Torp
Simms

Esse and Yang going back

There's still hope inside the club that Rushworth will return and theres a deal to be done, hes made it clear he wants to come back so let's hope so

If that happens add to him
2 CB
1 LB
2 CM
1 CAM
1 Winger
1 ST

Dasilva will be here as stand in, as will KKH. KKH Pace and physicality will stand him in good stead if need to be called upon
Is Bidwell deliberately missing from the list of outgoings?

Rushworth all day. I don’t think he’ll go for more than £10-15m + add-ons.

Charles is not ready for the Prem and he’s not better than Dovin. Dubravka was actually a GK I had in mind to be fair but in your scenario, he’d clearly be number 1.

I actually echo this.

I do wonder whether, if we are actively seeking two GKs, whether we'll look at the profile similar to the above. A bit of a more experienced head which in theory can 'compete' with Rushworth or another.

Dovin definitely needs a loan move. He's been out for far too long to potentially sit on the bench for a full season and make the odd cameo in a cup game - plus it would be a huge risk having to call on him to deputise if our No.1. was sidelined for an extended period.

We need to get as much Prem/top division experience in the squad as possible. There will be gems in the Championship and elsewhere but ultimately, we don’t want to be a perennial boing boing team.

Mat Ryan could be a decent option as #2 keeper.

Separately, and in no way a rumour, but an interesting option in midfield could be Cristian Casseres from Toulouse. Looks decent stats-wise and can do a bit of everything.

I don’t think we can count on Dovin being number 2 with his injury. He’s not even been back this season. Reckon we will have to sign 2 keepers.

If Brighton sign a 40 year old Manuel Neuer (which they won’t), I’d think it more likely they’d be doing that because want an experienced senior goalkeeper for 1 year to mentor Rushworth as their number 1 with Verbruggen leaving. A continental Scott Carson, a Karl Wagensohn if you will.
Neuer is still playing at the highest level, they're not going to bring him in for any reason other than to play in reality.

Another keeper option could be Nacho Miras. Quite frankly ridiculous keeping stats in Belgium.

No thanks because I won’t be held responsible if instead of “Nacho Nacho Man” for his chant we end up with some four verse abomination about him being on the wing making city sing.

Why not just keep Dovin?
He badly need to play after his injury, there is no way he'll be no.1 and there is no point sticking him on the bench. A loan to a top end Champ club would be wise. He'll get game time and worse comes to the worst and we go straight back down we'll have a keeper with proper league experience

If Brighton keep Rushworth.

With the experience that Manuel Neuer has, he would be our first choice keeper, he would be a great mentor for Dovin.

Would be funny if we could gazump Brighton.

Just my thoughts.
